🚨 Please understand: there is no real peace deal here. There is a business deal between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin – and Ukraine is being pressured to surrender so those deals can happen.
💰 First, there are the Lukoil foreign assets. Then there is Kushner’s reported interest in reviving Nord Stream and bringing Russian gas back into Europe. But Europe has little appetite for returning to dependence on Moscow.
🇺🇦 And where are the real security guarantees for Ukraine? Where is the serious ceasefire mechanism? Instead, the pressure is on Ukraine to give up. Spoiler: that won’t happen.
What makes this even worse is watching the American president attack allies in Europe and NATO while repeating Putin’s talking points and treating the Kremlin as a business partner.
This is a deeply disgraceful moment – but presidents are temporary. Ukraine, Europe, America, freedom and democracy are bigger than any one leader.
