They are also a stark reminder of the continuing threat to the safety and dignity of women and girls, and of how quickly these concerns are overshadowed as the outrage fades and public attention shifts. GIO calls for swift investigation, strict accountability and effective measures to prevent such violence and ensure the safety of women and girls.
