1/6 🎓🔬 I'm thrilled to share our new working paper. We find evidence that stock markets are starting to react to key climate litigation by devaluing the stocks of defending Carbon Majors. lse.ac.uk/granthaminstitute/…

The forecast night-time lows are more like the average highs for this time of year. I'm already sleep-deprived from 5 days+ of above 20°C night-time temps 😢 These are literally 'tropical nights'. There were only 44 between 1961-1980. This heatwave alone might yield 8 or more.
Surprised how little is being made of the overnight minimum temps for the #heatwaveuk. @UniRdg_Met will likely smash our old record (20.8C). This week got joint 3rd highest and highest for July already... Mon-Tues night looks horrible. Night heat is much harder to avoid than day.

Love the initiative by @LSEnews! Students can vote on three robust projects to make the university carbon neutral: - biodiversity projects (conservation) - reforestation/afforestation projects - removal projects (soil carbon/reforestation)

Corporate disclosure 101 - revise your risk factors months afterwards to warn of adverse impacts 👏 @LambWeston @SEC_News

A common sight as I end teaching for this semester (most students chose to be online in the hybrid sessions). However, a great end in the Sustainable Business & Finance class today with students coming up with proposals for the @SEC_News to mandate climate disclosure!

My latest working paper on whether a more frequent filing, and one that has a materiality threshold, can overcome some difficulties in measuring firm-level physical risk exposure 👇 feedback very welcome
Paper no.15 in our Discussion Paper Series: @glengostlow explores whether Form 8-K, a filing that allows firms to immediately report on unscheduled material events to shareholders, holds any relevant and latent information on physical risk 👉 bit.ly/3mTXYQL
