Excited to announce that I will be starting my research group at @YaleMed. If you are interested in epigenetics and cancer immunology (or know someone interested in these topics), reach out/apply: miceviclab.github.io/postdoc… Please help spread the word!

We think DNMT1 may be a modifier of CD8 fate and epigenetic plasticity, such that inhibiting it could preserve effector competence and could make both checkpoint therapy and TIL therapy work for more patients.

Could AI change how ultrasound is used at the bedside? Point-of-care ultrasound lets clinicians perform and interpret scans right where patients receive care. In an interview, Yale emergency medicine physician Cristiana Baloescu explains how artificial intelligence could make these tools more accurate, responsive, and useful in time-sensitive clinical settings. Only a subset of cancer patients currently respond to checkpoint inhibitors, partly due to an unfavorable tumor microenvironment. In a new Phase IB trial in Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas led by @DrSaraPai @YaleCancer

increased IFN-γ signature and PD-L1 expression in a subset of patients. Although an early trial, hope for expanding the use of checkpoint inhibitors for cancer by using epigenetic approaches. jci.org/articles/view/181671
