🎥”THE DROP”: A SNOWFALL SAGA : A few thoughts… WANDA: Wanda is trash… Why? I believe Wanda’s upbringing, environment, and past lifestyle play a HUGE part in her STILL-present “addict brain.” It’s a gift and a curse… The gift is that her line of thinking allows her to navigate ANY and ALL situations and find opportunities to survive and prosper… Even if that prosperity means sacrificing those close to her as a means to an end. The curse? Because of her mentality, the threat of crisis is…and WILL always be…just one choice away from becoming a reality in her life. Her victorious battle with addiction has left her with a drive to succeed that would transfer into ANY field of business. Her drive is the borderline obsession that only a CEO or those among the 1% of the 1% could possess. Even in love, Wanda’s approach is one of entitlement, manipulation, and control… Similar traits to those of an “addict.” Though thoughtful, genuine, and possessing a deep love for and ear for Black music, Wanda can only be Wanda at this point in her life… LEON: Leon continues to show us why he outlasted Franklin, just as Mobb Deep told us in “Survival of the Fittest”… Leon is the very definition AND best representation of a TRUE G. Leon has engaged in and been successful at every aspect of the game that only hustlers and gangsters play… The kind that can corrupt a man’s soul and turn him into the FOULEST of niggas….Don’t ask me how I know… Through it all, Leon has remained a man who stands on principles, morals, honor, loyalty, and service to his community, in spite of the destruction he helped usher in… U can’t help but root for Leon… DARA: Dara is the epitome of a hood “femme fatale”… She is 100% cut from the cloth of a “gangsta bitch” who, depending on who you are and how you get down, can be your wildest dream AND your worst nightmare. While watching, I can’t help but think, “How many cats has Dara set up in her life? 🤔” I knew, and STILL know a few Dara’s. 😂 Every man should experience a Dara at some point in his life. If you live, you’ll love AND learn. 😂 Though she genuinely “chose up,” I predict Leon and Dara don’t work out in the long run. Though submissive to Leon CURRENTLY, Dara’s love, loyalty, and bloodline ties to the set will SOMEHOW be the reason… LAMAR: Lamar’s musical genius, mind, and passion for expressing himself through the art form derived from street urban culture that we call HIP-HOP are both a positive and a problem. It’s the paradox of a true savant, child prodigy, and the business of music… Like Wanda, his drive to express himself for the world to hear makes him toooo selfish and emotional. He’s in a mind state of checkers while FULLY immersed in a FOUL game of chess called the music business. Lamar is a blessing wrapped in talent while still being a weak link. He NEEDS J-Loco, yet he’s so tunnel-visioned that he can’t see it until his life is on the line. This has been proven throughout the episodes. Lamar has gotta grow TF up and realize he’s on the precipice of making history… AND FAST!!!! It’s make-or-break at this point… THE DROP is an important show (from an entertainment/industry & cultural standpoint) for various reasons… • It’s a Black show created by,directed by, and consisting of Black folks who come from the communities and environments the show details and displays. It’s 100% AUTHENTIC in every aspect of that. • Shows like THE DROP don’t get greenlit by major platforms like FX/HULU Disney without the focus being dope dealing, violence, and the sensationalized, homogenized, stereotypical caricature versions of street urban culture…CB4 type sh*t… And this ain’t that, due to the involvement of cats like Glasses Malone, Jason Martin, Symba, Larrance Dopson, and MANY other IMPORTANT, notable contributors and consultants.
