maybe the reason whitaker doesn't get the stories about homeless people is bc the character doesn't actually consider himself having been Real Homeless and has biases against homeless people and the populations most susceptible to homelessness 🤷
either way, can we at least get an interesting conversation going about the show's use of allegory and how even then patient and [doctor, nurse] experiences don't have to line up 1:1 to give us insight into them? nitter.cf/going2malibu/status/20…
and for the love of god, "bias" does not have to mean "is malicious towards". he's made assumptions about: a homeless person, a people susceptible to homelessness, that impacted their dignity and care. that likely came from a) a general cultural bias and b) past experience.

i mean this with the absolute best…..some of #you have to accept that langdon’s character isn’t going to always be tied down to stealing drugs and being an addict. especially when you are using it as a way to villainize his character
if a character is canonically a victim of gendered violence and goes on to pursue romantic relationships with people of the same gender who abused them that should be as immutable a characteristic as canon bi/homosexuality when it comes to fanworks

1. people recovering from opioid addiction are encouraged to abstain from alcohol as addiction often doesn't discriminate between substances and being "universally" sober is most productive
2. a tavern ≠ a bar. bars are alcohol-centric. taverns are restaurants
