Highlighting failures of government Trad Husband and father of 3 I try not to judge, but sometimes I judge, especially if you're an idiot

Climate Change is the "do it all" emergency.
Too hot? - Climate Change
Too cold? - Climate Change
Too dry? - Climate Change
Too wet? - Climate Change
Just right? - Probably Climate Change
Don't think for a minute they won't use this "emergency" to take your freedoms.
I won't believe AI is a threat until I see robots folding fitted sheets properly after they come out of the dryer.
A lot of people seem to be finally learning that Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme and not a retirement savings plan.
Iโm at the cottage today to get the boat and jet skis winterized.
Itโs a gorgeous morning.
Happy Friday!
If this isn't a headline that perfectly encapsulates our federal government, I don't know what is.
A deficit of $2 trillion "alarms" our elected officials, but not enough to actually do anything about it???
Morons.
They will bankrupt us all.
I continue to be baffled how professional, white collar employees cannot do something as simple as add items correctly to a review agenda file.
It seems like every week, after I send out the agenda to all meeting participants that includes items THEY added, someone asks why their agenda item wasn't included.
"Because you didn't put today's date, Linda."
My lord. This isn't f-ing rocket science.
I'm all for debating US policies regarding Israel, and even Israel's policies themselves, but if you were "celebrating" October 7th yesterday, you're an assh*ole.

Like the rest of you, I'm trying to understand the Hamas strategy.
On the surface, it looks insane. There's no real hope of conquering Israel, and no hope it will make anything better for anyone. Nor can any "expert" explain their strategy without appeal to some form of group insanity.
But Hamas seems too capable to be dismissed as crazy people. And their Iranian handlers are likely not insane either.
So I rule out "making anything better" as a Hamas objective.
What is left?
Israel's response will (necessarily) create civilian hardship in Gaza that is likely to shock the civilized world. And that will, in theory, weaken Israel's holocaust narrative that is -- by far -- it's most valuable asset.
Looks to me as if Hamas is playing a long game. Step one, weaken the Holocaust narrative and gain more militant supporters across the region. All it will cost Hamas is severe hardship for 1.7 million people on their side. But few of those people were thriving.
That makes Saudi Arabia the most important player in this drama. When and if they take a side, the new narrative is formed.
[Note: I don't know anything about this topic. But neither do the experts. None saw this coming.]
France needed immigrants to be able to continue to fund their welfare state.
Now they are "paying the price" for that decision.
Someone filed an auto insurance claim with State Farm (not my insurance company) using my cell phone number this past summer.
I have tried multiple times to get them to remove my phone number with zero success.
They keep calling me.
This last person claims he is removing my number. Fingers crossed.
@StateFarm
A mutual today said it bestโฆ โMid-summer to when the leaves fall is godโs apology for Michigan winters.โ
Very true indeed.

The state government of Minnesota very purposefully recruited a huge pool of immigrants from a country best known for its piracy, then put them to work changing the flow of money so Democrats benefit. I know that sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory, but I swear it is exactly what's happening in MN. The entire state is a structure of govt organizations and NGOs that funnel cash back to DFL politicians and causes. The voting system is wrecked by this; ballot harvesting IS the way elections are decided. The Somalis are the work force. They're the hired thugs - paid with oodles of taxpayer dollars - but the people at the top - Walz, Ellison, Frey, Klobuchar, Smith, Flanagan, etc. - are the ones who are orchestrating the thing. Nick Shirley found a stupid amount of fraud businesses; we're agreed. They were run by Somali people; we're agreed again. Those people were invited and courted and fit into the (God help me, this is gonna sound nuts) "takeoever plan" of the DFL/DSA. If all you do is talk about Somalis, you're talking about the little guy, the disposable ones. Those people are criminals. But they're a work force for the officials in MN. It's how they stay in power. Steve Simon? Blandest evil you'll ever run across. This is a model for how to gain control through dumb, blunt mafioso tactics and it's not run by guys named Mohammed. It's run by guys named Tim and Keith.
