I may be in a small cohort here, but I experienced October 7 and Charlie Kirk’s assassination very similarly. Not because the scale or facts were similar or comparable, but because they showed me with equal clarity who would cheer if my family and I were murdered. This understanding is now central to my politics.

Every small business in California has to pay an $800 minimum tax just for existing—even if they’re barely making it or just getting started. It’s absurd.
We’re going to get rid of that $800 small business tax completely. Entrepreneurs and family businesses shouldn’t be punished for trying to create jobs and serve their communities.
