Always great to see @DexysOfficial - fantastic show in Glasgow the other night.

The internet shutdown in Afghanistan happened in real time in my online poetry class on Monday. The women's accounts dropped out one by one. The last to go was Neda. Just before her image froze, I promised to put her poem on Twitter. She's 11. Online was her last hope of education. @WRNAfghanistan

Just realised that if Miles Davis and John Coltrane were alive they’d still both be younger than Sir David Attenborough.
I interviewed Marianne Faithfull twice and she was an absolute joy, every bit as funny, bitchy, thoughtful and considered as you’d expect. Absolutely heartbreaking news. 🎈

If you’re dreading Christmas because you know what’s coming from the man in your home… store this number SAFELY somewhere. Use it when you can. Get out safely. Next year CAN be different. The kids will thank you for getting them out - if you have any. Your friends and family will come back eventually - the good ones anyway. It’s hard once you leave, for a while, but nothing is as bad as staying. You deserve a chance to be happy and he isn’t going to give you that. Not at Christmas and not ever. He won’t change, it won’t improve, you might die there. Save this number. Call it soon.

This is easily the best book you’ll read (or listen to, loved the audiobook) this year. Fabulous stuff from @Willjhodgkinson and @Mozart_Estate
