Remember the old SysAdmin days.. mRemoteNG and SecureCRT 🤔 just looking into @superlogical (latest startup from @mitchellh and co. It looks like it could be finally the modernisation and resurrection of "The Jumphost" .. which we have all used at some point

This looks like a typical EU funded project where pretty much all the partners involved have little to any remotely similar experience then @Tesla does in developing FSD, taping out their own silicone, board level design and actually producing a test car. Their is lots of work since decades been done around FSD in Europe, but none of it actually deliveries it sole with private money, so the stakes to make it work beyond research implementation are v rare
The French and Germans will ban Tesla FSD to protect their car industry that's being decimated by Chinese EVs and Tesla Allowing Tesla full self driving would make it so popular that it'd probably the end of their car industry Because no French or German car has self driving like Tesla, many customers would probably flock to Tesla To show you: this is the state of self driving cars in France now My favorite part is the GDPR privacy policy required to be printed on the outside! 😂

In Ireland AnPost still have offices @Postvox , the can confirm you, and nice packing too (big green envelopes ) 😀
My biggest shock today was that America still has post offices, like ones you can actually walk into with your stuff and package it and they help you send it out We don't have them in most of Europe anymore You have tiny little counters in dirty tobacco shop and a tiny DPD or DHL or PostNL branded counter with agressive staff that really do not want to help you, and no they don't have boxes Here's a FedEx post office we walked in today, they have envelopes, boxes, bubble wraps, everything! You'll say but FedEx is private, yes you mean like most European postal companies now that are also private? Just something as basic as this is abundance and we don't have it anymore in Europe

We're seeing a lot of companies in the news urgently raising alarms over their LLM costs. We've got a dozen developers, some of them working on different production systems for customers at scale, with Claude Code. No runaway costs, actually relatively peanuts. We do it right!

The future as predicted in the 1970s. They got pretty close.

Some amazing engineering here, let's put holes in the seat so rain passed through and doesn't collect 😕 This is what you get when someone designs something they don't use themselves
Ireland moment: Install loads of chairs at the train station with no cover so when it rains (which it does constantly, because it's Ireland) they're unusable.

Everyone in Tech, use to use a ThinkPad before the apple frontend and Lenovo days, IBM was a huge supporter of #linux back then
Why is everyone in tech using a ThinkPad?

That's not an improvement, road route is less then 80km, technically rail route vi Athenry will be 110km or so, it should get this done in 40mins or so with the train doing 160km/h between stops. Schedule has to be designed to have inter-city service skipping a few stations
A colleague’s Thursday evening #commute from #eyresquare to Castlebar, 50 mins to the N6. The complete journey will be ~80 mins in comfort by rail. #westernrailcorridor #galwaycitycentre @castlebarNOW @thecontel @GalwayChamber @mayotourism @leomhaigheo @WesternDevCo

The the most proud statement to make, as no one went by train, 😔 Over 100k ppl, is absolutely clear statement that Tram @Luas / Train @IrishRail / DART regional train @ADublinDart / Metro Makes absolutely sense! Where is urgency?,
More than 126,000 passengers are expected to go through Dublin Airport tomorrow (Sunday), which would make it the busiest day ever in our 85 year history. Our previous busiest day came last August (124,600). Even busier days are expected as we head into peak summer. ✈️

Any advice on how to fix or replace a nano sim card cage that has two pins missing from corrosion? 🤔

Here's what my TODOs for @DublinAirport - Setup a 10min dedicated Airport+Train bus connection to Portmarnock 🚌🚊 - get @IrishRail and @DartDublin together for a 1 year trial, aligning with existing timetable, 🤝 - add Portmarnock as IC/Enterprise as exceptional stop Simple 👌
You’re in charge of Dublin Airport for a day. What one thing would you do? ✈️

This is why Ireland needs proper competition with @boltapp and @Uber and hiring local taxi companies, I never really liked how @FreeNow_IE simply pushed them out a couple of years ago, it's a monopoly :(

Would be the typical case in Galway too, more people get in car with down pours like that, adding to congestion
I think you don't fully realise just how shite Bus Eireann & public transport in Cork is, until you're left standing in the wet, cold & windy weather after multiple buses don't show up or pass Out of Service. Absolutely pathetic. I shouldn't be forced to buy a car to get home.

Just for your information, this is what a proper bike 🚲 "shed" or shelter looks like: - proper secured bike rack 📌 - multiple locking of your bike 🔏 - roof high enough to walk under 🧍‍♀️ - bikes dont need a stand, and don't get scratches 👌 Guess what, it's less then 10k EUR

Completely pointless approach, people want to recycle, ♻️ they don't need to be financially motivated to do so, Ireland Gov unfortunately learnt nothing from EU how to manage this

I'm just amazed people have to result in protesting in order to get a basic need of public transport 😔 Goes to show the level of corruption still going untouched in Ireland
A Luas delivers a Boeing 747 worth of customers every 2 mins. 🚃 One bus delivers 1km of car customers. 🚌 @brownthomas position is that cars driving through and not stopping in the city are more important than speeding up Luas and Bus. It makes no commercial sense.
