I wrote a lot about Apple (and T-Mobile) this week, but Amazon's all-new tablets and smart home products are SUPER interesting. Next week. XREAL AURA is also worth a deeper dive. Plus more on the iPhone Duo. And... sigh. Next week.
Shout out to @dell for sending over the new XPS Googlebook to test. Really stunning design; so small and portable and shiny.

I should go to bed, but I wrote about @apple's new MacBook Pro PROLED XDR and how it impacts the market. techsponential.com/reports/m…
The OmniBook 5 really is nice for the price; @hp is sending me a review unit (a green one) shortly. Going to try to get to a few other devices first, including HP’s RTX Spark on the total other end of the price/RAM spectrum

I’ve always believed that the endgame of spatial computing is something close to the holodeck on Star Trek – computing that feels limitless, immersive, and completely natural.
When we started building Android XR, we knew the early chapters of that story would require bulky headsets. That was the price of admission for the technology at the time.
Today, you can see the transition to the next generation happening in real time.
XREAL just officially launched XREAL AURA, the first wired XR glasses running Android XR. Because they’re dramatically lighter and more balanced than traditional headsets, they cross a critical barrier: you can comfortably keep them on for hours whether watching a movie or getting work done on multiple screens.
I’ve been using a pair recently, and it changes how you think about screens:
🟢 For productivity: I can pull up multiple virtual windows in a public space without anyone seeing my work. It completely changes working on the go.
🟢 For entertainment & daily apps: Because it runs Android, all of your favorite Google Play apps are natively there alongside immersive XR content.
🟢 For everyday life: With Gemini integrated, the glasses understand what you're looking at and can give you hands-free, contextual help as you walk around.
We wanted Android XR to be more than a cool tech demo – we wanted it to fit effortlessly into daily life. Today feels like a huge step in that direction.
Proud of the Google and XREAL teams who pulled this off!

Amazon launched so many interesting products today; this photo frame may be the most subtle:
The HD anti-glare display on our new Alexa Photo Frame is awesome. It actually looks like a real photo and adapts to wherever it’s placed.
This is our first Alexa-powered photo frame, and it intelligently picks your best photos, keeps them current, and makes it easy to find and share moments with Amazon Photos.

Told you it's going down... down in price!
It's going down.

Only Apple could put a touchscreen on a computer.
Kidding, but it is nice to see the company that convinced everyone to touch your screen bringing it to the Mac.
Apple did add touch, tandem OLED ("PROLED XDR"), and M5 Pro or M5 Max, but did NOT add cellular connectivity to the new MacBook Pro
I've gotten hands-on multiple times with @XREAL_Global AURA prototypes; the interface is solid, and @android XR should be straightforward for developers to support. Now available for purchase, and it's less expensive than most thought.

Trying to catch up with 'old' @apple news before even more drops: here's my analysis of Apple's Welcome Home launch techsponential.com/reports/w…
I'm seeing reports that GTA6 will be a 210 GB download. Christmas is coming early for @seagategaming.
I tested the M6 on the Mac mini; it's amazing to me that @Apple's scale allows it to put what would be a superchip for anyone else into its mainstream baseline products like the mini and iMac.
Here's a link to my report on the M6 Mac mini techsponential.com/reports/m…
Apple's home page is updated ahead of the newsroom; looks like @apple is updating the MacBook Pro with M6
