I've been working on more 3D-printable signs lately. This is probably the most ambitious one I've done so far. It may not look like it, but there are 11 layers in this image. Coming soon (TM):
Experimenting with a clicker die for cutting leather pattens. So far so good but my press is the limiting factor. Might need an upgrade.
Awesome humble bundle deal for Makers right now! Especially if you are a newer maker. humblebundle.com/books/diy-e…

Enjoying a long 3 day weekend today (took the day off). The doorknob on the door to my garage quit functioning last night, which ended up being a bit of a larger project than I was planning. Took 40 minutes to remove the doorknob and 5 to replace it.
This week's project.. working on some new embossing templates for leather coasters. A few years ago I first started making these, and learned a lot about wall thickness, proper depth, and how to "lock in" the leather so you can stamp it with a arbor / clicker press.
Wow, MSTF is offering a 27%-ish (60,000 employee) voluntary exit offer. This is incredible. The reason is apparently to "balance a costly artificial intelligence infrastructure build-out with capital efficiency."
The cost of AI is not cheap, and now we're starting to see it. What amazes me is that MSFT is replacing actual humans in favor of "balancing" AI. Reminds me of how Anakin Skywalker brought balance to the force (IYKYK).

first proper print off the @LDOmotors babybelt pro that finished, gotta do some tuning still, but think we got the bugs worked out
This was a fun one to make. I made a few of these last year, definitely planning to make a few more. I am
I decided to hop back on Etsy and just reopened my store. I am gong to test and see if anyone can find my listings. My leather goods are probably a better fit there than Fleabay.
Looks like they don’t charge as much fee wise either, which is nice, so I can offer a slightly lower price.

Pro tip: make sure you update your raspberry pi machines- especially if they are running PHP and internet facing! Huge vulnerabilities this week.
Cartographer update- It’s not perfect but I think it is good enough! Had to do some axis twist calibration/ compensation.
Well, Cartographer upgrade seemed good, but now that I'm putting it to the test, I'm not getting good results. It looks like the sensor is drifting downward when printing ASA. I get better results without a bed mesh.
Ok, I just asked AI and it told me I need to run "CARTOGRAPHER_TEMPERATURE_CALIBRATE" which may help with this.. I'll have to give it a shot.
