Well its clear now that my old stomping ground (the Fed) retains its independence, but the rest of the administrative state as an independent civil service is toast. While I can point to Trump for driving a stake through the heart of the administrative state, the Democrats own their share of this for having so badly abused the administrative state for capricious and arbitrary purposes (ty Warren and Gensler). Rather than putting a stop to capricious and arbitrary conduct, the Supreme Court has just green lighted the full politicization of the administrative state. Sigh
