Jury Finds High School JROTC Instructor Guilty of Indecent Assault on Student
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced that a Collin County jury found Michael Christopher Songy, age 44, of Frisco, guilty of Indecent Assault for improper touching of one of his high school students.
The Crime
Songy was the student’s JROTC instructor at Prosper Rock Hill High School for 2 years. The week before graduation, Songy had the 18 year old student alone in the classroom supply closet. Songy initiated a hug and then began touching the student inappropriately under the shirt. After the assault, Songy put his phone number on a sticky note and gave it to the student. The student bravely outcried to a teacher about what had happened to her.
The Investigation
The child was then interviewed by Prosper ISD Police where she turned over the sticky note with Songy’s phone number. Police were also able to recover phone and computer evidence, including a message Songy sent the day after the assault asking the victim to come to his classroom again. Songy was then arrested for the Class A misdemeanor crime of Indecent Assault, the highest charge available for this conduct.

DA Greg Willis Announces Life Without Parole Sentence for Celina Man Who Murdered Former Girlfriend During Home Invasion
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that a jury convicted Karl Andrew Stanley, 55, of Celina, of Capital Murder. Under Texas law, that conviction carries an automatic sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Stanley killed a former girlfriend while burglarizing her home in retaliation for her reporting his stalking behavior to the Celina Police Department.
The Crime
On November 25, 2024, Celina Police received a call from a carpenter working at the victim’s home in the Mustang Lakes subdivision. The caller reported that Stanley broke into the home armed with a car jack and began striking the victim with it. The caller wrestled the car jack away from him, but Stanley followed the victim inside the home and began strangling her with his hands. When officers arrived, they found Stanley inside the home mere feet from the victim’s body with her blood and hair on his hands.
The Investigation
Detective Joseph Shires obtained search warrants for the victim’s home, Stanley’s DNA, and his vehicle. The car jack was recovered outside the home as described by the witness. DNA analysis confirmed the victim’s blood was on Stanley’s hands. A document titled “grudge list” was found in his vehicle, with the victim’s name listed first.
Detective Frank Alegre testified that beginning in early November 2024 the victim had reported Stanley’s harassing and stalking behavior to Celina PD. Stanley had recently been criminally trespassed from the victim’s home and was arrested by Celina police two days before the murder for violating that warning. Detective Alegre further testified that he had obtained a stalking arrest warrant for Stanley just two hours before the killing.
The Sentence
Stanley pled not guilty to Capital Murder. After hearing the evidence, a Collin County jury deliberated less than an hour before finding him guilty. Texas law required an automatic sentence of life in prison without parole, which Judge Richard Davis imposed.
Statement from District Attorney Greg Willis

DA Greg Willis Announces 75-Year Sentence for Frisco Man Who Stabbed Lyft Driver While Planning to Kidnap Child
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that Antwain Karmen Williams, 20, of Frisco, was sentenced to 75 years in Prison for Aggravated Robbery.
The Crime
On December 16, 2024, Frisco Police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle taken at knifepoint. Officers found the victim suffering from multiple knife wounds, including a slit throat and a severely cut hand. Before emergency surgery, the victim told police he was a Lyft driver and the attacker was his passenger. The victim survived.
The Investigation
Within hours, Frisco Detective Justin Freeman obtained information from Lyft identifying the last rider. Although a fake name was used, the email and phone number linked to Antwain Karmen Williams. Records showed Williams had an outstanding arrest warrant for Sexual Performance of a Child involving a 13-year-old victim. Snapchat messages recovered from Williams showed he planned to steal the car that night in order to kidnap the same 13-year-old.
Law enforcement tracked Williams, who fled in the stolen vehicle, crashed into another car, and was taken into custody by Texas DPS Trooper Justin Diaz. In a post-arrest interview, Williams first blamed a fictional person named “Landon,” then claimed the Lyft driver had locked him in the car and that he attacked only to escape. Additional evidence included a Snapchat photo of Williams smirking while holding the stolen keys with the caption “we mobile baby,” and earlier messages stating “I’m boutta get a car.”
The Trial and Sentence
Williams pled guilty to the first-degree felony of Aggravated Robbery. Jurors heard evidence of the robbery, the pending Sexual Performance of a Child case involving the 13-year-old, and other bad acts. Detective Walker Martin testified about phone evidence showing the illegal nature of Williams’ relationship with the child victim. Jurors also heard that Williams had spoken sexually with a 14-year-old, recorded and posted videos of sexual encounters with two prior girlfriends who were 16 and 17 at the time without their permission, and threatened to “jump” another person upon release.
The jury sentenced Williams to 75 years in prison. Judge Jim Pruitt presided.
Statement from District Attorney Greg Willis
“This man attacked a hardworking Lyft driver at knifepoint, nearly killing him with a slit throat and severe wounds, as part of a plan to kidnap a 13-year-old child. A Collin County jury heard the full evidence and delivered a 75-year sentence. Our community won’t tolerate this kind of violence.”

The Crime
On September 10, 2024, Amarillo Police responded to a delayed outcry of sexual assault. The 17-year-old victim reported that her father, Leslie Price, had sexually assaulted her while she was living with him in Princeton. At the time of her outcry, the victim was three months pregnant with Price’s child.
The Investigation
After a forensic interview, the case was transferred to the Princeton Police Department TX. Price was arrested shortly thereafter. Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced today that Malik Charles Anthony Davis, 27, of Frisco, Texas, was sentenced to 50 years in prison for the offense of Aggravated Assault against a Security Officer.
The Crime
Since early 2025, Davis attended the Islamic Center of Frisco, claiming to be homeless and asking for food and occasional shelter, which they provided. On June 7, 2025, the victim — an armed security guard and member of the Islamic Center — was closing down the building. The victim believed he was alone when Davis, concealed in the locker room area wearing all black clothing with a hood over his face, silently approached from behind. Davis then struck the victim multiple times with a machete, causing serious injury. During the attack, the victim’s firearm fell from his holster. Davis picked it up and tried to flee the scene. He was arrested nearby. @FriscoPD Detective Travis Chapman and Lieutenant Jeffrey Inmon investigated the case.
The Trial
During trial, prosecutors presented surveillance video of the violent attack. Additional surveillance video showed Davis preparing for the attack as well as his movements immediately afterward, including changing clothes to conceal his identity as he fled. DA Greg Willis: McKinney Man Gets Life Without Parole for Capital Murder in Planned Robbery
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced that Donte Murry, 26, of McKinney, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for Capital Murder after a Collin County jury convicted him.
The Crime
On April 28, 2024, around 2:00 p.m., @McKinneyPolice Department responded to reports of gunfire in a neighborhood. Witnesses observed a man approach a white vehicle parked on the street, argue with the occupant, and fire multiple shots. After the shooting, the suspect returned to the vehicle, rummaged through it, removed items, and fled on foot. Officers found the victim inside the white vehicle with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The Investigation
Crime scene investigators recovered a .45 caliber shell casing inside the victim’s vehicle that was later matched to a handgun found in Murry’s backpack. Investigators determined Murry and the victim had exchanged gunfire during a planned drug deal that turned into an armed robbery. Muddy footprints led officers to a nearby residence where the McKinney SWAT Team helped locate Murry and execute a search warrant. Officers recovered Murry’s firearm, the victim’s stolen firearm, and marijuana taken from the victim’s vehicle. In a recorded interview with Detective Mark Brydges, Murry repeatedly lied before admitting the meeting was for a drug deal and that he intended to rob the victim.
The Trial and Sentence
