😔It makes me sad that the best alternative to francechat.com is this 2006-vibe chatbot on Ameli (National Health Insurance website)!
- An outdated UI, immediately asking you to rate the conversation,
- Predefined answers,
- No “intelligence” to respond on a case-by-case basis,
- and most of the time the chat ends up telling you to make a phone appointment.
This phone appointment? can’t be made for at least a week …. if you’re lucky.
And you’ll have an agent on the phone who will basically just advise you based on what?
The documentation of the website they can access.
The mood reminds me of the era of pre-war telephone operators who had to route calls by physically connecting lines.
Except it’s 2026.
Administrative services, just for maternity leave requests, are being handled with 3–4 months of delay. Human agents are completely overwhelmed with requests (sadly).
There are tools in 2026 to allow people who need help and information to get it much faster. Why aren’t we using these tools?No?
