Valor Mortis Review – 9/10 @oml_games @ValorMortis This game is absolutely incredible! Valor Mortis was my first Souls game, and I can honestly say it has made me fall in love with the genre. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it, but I ended up having an amazing time with it. The first-person combat feels really good, and the weapons are so satisfying to use. The story is very intriguing and makes you want to keep pushing forward, even when you’re getting absolutely destroyed by some of the tougher enemies 😂. The game does get progressively more difficult as you go, and as someone who is new to Souls games, I definitely struggled at times. My timing when it comes to parrying is terrible, so you can imagine how that went lol. That being said, overcoming those tough enemies feels great, and the death animations are nothing short of awesome! There are still a few bugs that need to be worked out, though. I’ve had multiple occasions where I get stuck in place while fighting an enemy and can’t move, forcing me to jump over and over again until I finally get free. This has actually caused me to die a few times. I also managed to fall through the map once 😂. Putting those minor bugs aside, the game ran fantastic on my ROG Xbox Ally X, and I’ve had a really great experience overall. The campaign took roughly 20–25 hours, depending on how much you explore and how many times you die lol. Overall, I’m giving Valor Mortis a 9/10. For my first Souls game, this was an incredible experience, and I’m really glad it introduced me to the genre. My one big wish is that they add a New Game Plus mode so we can replay the campaign with all our weapons and powers already unlocked. I would absolutely jump back in for another playthrough! If this is how good my first Souls game was, I’m definitely looking forward to playing more games in the genre! 🔥 A special thanks to @wand for helping me get through some really challenging parts of the game where I was struggling!
