important announcement — hackios is now hakios! ❤️ we’ve officially renamed hackios to hakios as part of our efforts to establish a more independent identity, respect apple’s intellectual property rights, and reduce potential trademark concerns. the name is pronounced “haki os” and comes from the color khaki. same vision, new identity. what’s next? • our source code will receive updates every single day as we continue our massive refactoring and development. • we’re working toward real dual-boot support, allowing hakios to run alongside android instead of loading the entire system into RAM. • we’re continuing to improve hardware compatibility, drivers, stability, and overall performance. • hakios will remain completely free and open-source. we’re not slowing down. we’re building a stronger, more independent foundation for the future. new name. same mission. bigger ambitions. — hakios team ❤️

we’re currently working on something massive behind the scenes. that’s why we’ve been posting a little less lately. don’t mistake silence for inactivity — development hasn’t slowed down. we know the hype has been quieter recently, but we’re not here to chase temporary attention. we’re focused on building something that actually matters. less noise, more progress. we’re just getting started. bigger things are ahead.

important update regarding hakios. we’re currently working on a major refactoring of our entire codebase to ensure better compliance with apple’s licensing terms and intellectual property rights. our goal is to make hakios a fully independent, transparent and legally compliant open-source research project. we’re separating our own xnu modifications, custom drivers and bootloader from apple’s proprietary software. this doesn’t mean we’re abandoning the project. quite the opposite — we’re building a stronger foundation for its future. independent developers will still be able to build upon our open-source work under the applicable licenses. hackios will remain completely free and open-source. we respect apple’s intellectual property, and we’re committed to doing things the right way. this is a new chapter for hakios. ❤️
