🦇 TODAY’S VENDING SERIES SPOTLIGHT COMES FROM SERIES 1….. 🦇 💜 GOLBAT 💜 Another one that’s been sitting in the collection for a while, but with ONLY 7 PSA 10s LEFT to complete the 1998 Japanese Vending Series Master Set, I’m going to keep giving some of the cards I already own their moment in the spotlight! 🔍🏆 This Golbat is a great example of why I love the artwork in this set so much. The artwork by @MitsuhiroArita has such a dramatic, almost cinematic feel. Golbat is flying directly toward you, wings spread across nearly the entire frame, with its enormous mouth wide open and those massive fangs front and center 😳🦇 The perspective is what really sells it for me. Golbat feels HUGE in this illustration. The body is pushed toward the viewer while the wings stretch into the background, creating this awesome sense of depth and motion. The purple wings, dark gray body, and greenish background all work together to make the card feel dark and atmospheric without becoming overly complicated. And that expression… 😂 The half lidded eyes combined with that gigantic open mouth give Golbat this almost menacing but somehow goofy personality. It looks like it’s flying straight at you to take a bite and couldn’t be happier about it. Arita is also one of the foundational artists of the Pokémon TCG. He began working on Pokémon cards during the prototype stage in 1996, before Pokémon Red and Green were even released, and even helped design the original Energy symbols. He went on to illustrate some of the most iconic cards in Pokémon history, including the original Base Set Charizard! 📊 @PSAcard 10 Population: 160 And now for the fun part… The bidding wars for Vending Series cards are REALLY heating up online 🔥 🚀 You guys are making this final stretch a LOT harder for me! 🤣 But honestly, I LOVE seeing the Vending Series finally get this kind of attention from collectors. These cards deserve it. We’re still hunting for those final 7 PSA 10s, and we’ll keep looking anywhere and everywhere we can to find them 🔍💪 Comment below which Vending Series cards you’d like to see me spotlight that I haven’t posted yet! 👇 ⭐ Pokémon: Golbat 🃏 Card #: 42 📚 Series: 1 🎨 Artist: @MitsuhiroArita 📊 Population: 160 7 TO GO 🏆🔥 #Pokemon #PokemonTCG #JapanesePokemon #PokemonVending #PSA10 #PokemonCards #PokemonCollection @CardPurchaser
