Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineerโs laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified.
The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far.
Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the companyโs funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete.
As an immediate precaution, Binance has:
- temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed;
- revoked the affected address authorisation;
- engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds.
Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice.

The open source toolkit connects AI agents to reverse engineering tools such as Ghidra and Hopper, helping them analyze applications, inspect binaries, understand software behavior, and rebuild features based on what they discover.
The hype exploded after demos showed developers using AI to recreate software features, experiment with game ports, and explore applications in ways that previously required significant reverse engineering expertise.
REA reportedly crossed 100,000 GitHub stars in less than a week, making it one of the fastest growing repositories in the platformโs history.

๐ BRO TURNED 25 CENTS INTO 46 BILLION โBITCOINโ
Web3 had one of those moments where you genuinely have to read the headline twice.
On September 11, an attacker exploited two bugs in Symbiosisโ Bitcoin Bridge. A deposit worth just 330 satoshis, around $0.25, was used to mint approximately 46.1 billion unbacked syBTC.
For context, that number is more than 2,000ร Bitcoinโs entire 21 million BTC maximum supply. ๐ญ
The attacker ultimately extracted far less than the headline number, with reported proceeds around $336,000, and Symbiosis shut down the affected bridge while working on recovery and security fixes.
