I don’t think small groups can get more engaging than this! Supporting our Science unit during nonfiction reading, it has been a great week to come back to after spring break! Just like the chrysalis, we are enjoying hanging together and learning!
Last day of NISA meant new backpacks and supplies for our students. Seeing their excitement and hearing their squeals of delight made everyone smile! Joy was in the air!

NISA! Of course I adore the students but an added bonus is learning from other teachers! Shout out to Ms.
Nguyen our STEM teacher. Love watching how she breaks down the design process! So much I can take back into my classroom in the fall.

What fun we are having building relationships and language at summer NISA! The positivity and enthusiasm are contagious. These smiles say it all!

Fairytale Court today! Judge Harris presiding. I expect to hear lots of text evidence from these characters as they try to justify their actions. We will leave it to the jury to decide….

“Twice this week, I have watched an elderly individual, fade into the busy life in which we all live. One man just needed Panadol for his wife but the shop assistant simply said it’s in aisle ‘6’. But he struggled to navigate the supermarket and as I watched him go in the wrong direction, I left all my groceries and took him where he needed to go.
Today, I watched an elderly man struggle in the heat, who had obviously had a fall with a huge scrape and blood on his leg. He walked past people in the cafe, while he slowly made his way to his car. Not one person stopped. Or looked. Or acknowledged him. I took him to his car and checked he was ok. He told me he had a fall and wasn’t sure how the air con worked in his car so he just didn’t use it. I sat with him, until his air con kicked in and heard him talk about the old frail body that he is in, that fails him now, every single day.
When you see an elderly person walking down the street, searching in the supermarket or struggling to their car, take a minute out of your busy schedule and ask them if they need a hand. Think about your grand parents and your parents and how pissed you would be if someone didn’t stop to help them. But more, think of them as you.
Once upon a time they were you. They were busy, they had work, they had children, they were able.... Today, they are just in an older body that is not going as fast as it used to and this busy life is confusing. They deserve our utmost respect and consideration. One day it will be you, it will be us. I wish more people gave a sh*t about them and acknowledged them for their admirable existence and geez I hope someday, not that far away, someone does it for me.”

Last night the LISD school board approved that The Hebron High School football stadium will be changed to The Brian Brazil Stadium! Congratulations Dad, well deserved and proud of the man that you are and who you have been over the years. Thank you to the LISD school board!
The stems are really doing their job! The kids will be so excited this morning! @BluebonnetES
We kicked off our math unit with fractions. I read Tops and Bottoms…A story about a tricky hare who plants vegetables. We learned how carrots, radishes, beets, tomatoes, corn, lettuce and celery grow to better understand the humor of the story. Now dinner? Vegetable soup! :)
I love my school and I love our Teacher’s lounge. It is always such a joyful place to be because of the creativity of our teachers. Isn’t it lovely?❤️
Our admin is so supportive! 2nd grade had Fairy Tale Court today and look who stopped by! @BluebonnetES
They added so much to the excitement. Thank you!
