Well, a couple of reasons 1) if you obtain a warranty through that company, would you pay to ship it to the manufacturer for service under the warranty? 2) those “middle men” are neighbors that directly impact your local economy. The car manufacturer doesn’t do that. Ever. Need a sponsor for your kid’s football league? Audi ain’t writing the check. Need some funds for the school lunch program? No tax dollars are local if the manufacturer is thousands of miles away. STOP TRYING TO NATIONALIZE EVERYTHING. That’s how local economies die. In the rush for convenience, people like this are ruining their own local economies and they don’t even know it.

Good news! Children with "very low food security" a measure that looks at households where there's food insecurity among the children and at some point in the last year a child skipped one or more meals in a day peaked in 2008 during the "great recession." That's both in absolute and percentage terms. ers.usda.gov/data-products/f… The majority of households that face food insecurity (skipping a meal at some point in the last year, or substituting cheaper/less filling/less nutritious options) receive food assistance and most of those households don't have children that face food insecurity, the parent(s) are mostly able to provide for the kids even if they have to skip a meal or something at some point during the year. We still can improve that number, it's still not zero. But we're making progress. For example during the pandemic it actually hit a new low instead of a high like it did during previous periods of disruption, like 2008. Also, we don't have any trillionaires. Musk was very briefly a trillionaires on paper, but he's since "lost" a significant amount of money (again on paper). So babies are getting food and trillionaires are losing money.
