Como, Brighton.
Stable and very well run clubs off the pitch with a consistent approach.
Makes a mockery of far bigger institutions with more wealth who are not run anywhere near as well.
Big clubs can’t get away with it anymore just by being bigger.
There is just far too many resources available to even smaller clubs nowadays.
And this is even more so where there is way less disparity in quality of player being produced across the board.
There’s not that many elites who the big clubs can just buy to ensure their teams and squads are far better.
Being well run and stable off the pitch has never been more important to success.

This Celtic side don’t place any urgency, nor take any pride in defending - that’s a damning reflection on Martin O’Neill and his staff
You were deemed crazy for suggesting this homecoming should have concluded off the back of the League Title 🤥

I’ll explain football in one tweet in a logical loop.
Winning is the result of recruiting the best players.
The quality of a player is emergent, meaning how whether a player’s potential is actualised depends on his environment.
Players perform best if the environment and strategy maximise their strengths and minimise their weaknesses.
Coaches enable this platforming of talent.
You can find the source of any club’s problems in this loop.

Part-time Stenhousemuir are eight points clear at the top of the Championship.
I spoke to Ochilview director of football Martin Christie about "Stennyball" - the data-driven strategy that has taken them from League 2 to the brink of the Premiership. 👇

A concept of WAR with many flaws, but sharing the whole process is important. Only portraying successful version isn't reality.

Some insight into what is exactly going wrong for Celtic. Had a blast these last three weeks joining the @huddlebreakdown team.
Celtic 1-3 Ferencváros. No press triggers. No plan. Nothing.
@jucojames: it's a Frankenstein — half Ange, half Rodgers, working as neither.
Full tactical breakdown + Glasgow Derby preview 👇

Sinisalo dropped for a backup Championship keeper after the season he just had to become #1, great for the morale 👍🏼
The only positive is that Johnstone’s clangers have come early, no need for further damage to be done with him in goal

My worry so far this season is that we’ve only been tested twice vs an opponent that has a higher level of quality than mid-to-low Scottish Premiership teams, and both occasions we’ve looked really poor.
It’s fine playing domestic fodder when you have a massive gap in quality player-wise, but when that gap becomes narrower it comes down to how you utilise those players and set them up. I’m yet to see any evidence of this team being set-up coherently.

The data says Celtic have a major defensive problem — and Sunday at Ibrox is the test. 🚨

Another enjoyable discussion on @huddlebreakdown. I referenced some data throughout and thought I'd share the visuals here. Starting with xG difference, Celtic have not produced the same wildly dominant performances in the past few matches as against Kilmarnock and Falkirk.
This will require Celtic's defenders to be strong in aerial duels and recover balls in behind. Celtic's midfielders and forwards will have to cover a lot of space when the ball is lumped forward.
