Discord is about to put your public messages on Google
Discord will start making messages from Discoverable public servers searchable on Google and other search engines from mid-December.
The feature is ON by default in most regions, but you can opt out:
User Settings → Data & Privacy → turn off “Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages.”
In the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, it will be OFF by default.
Private servers, DMs and group DMs are not included. Usernames and avatars won’t appear alongside indexed messages.

I never get tired of rewatching this match. Aris' commentary, the crowd, the matchup. Everything about it was so good, that it got me to play tekken more often!

今回の海賊版騒動でたびたび名前が出るゲイブ・ニューウェルについて調べてみた。
この人はSteamを作ったValveの共同創業者で、海賊版について「合法的に入手する手段がない、あるいは正規版が不便だから海賊版が広がっているのであれば、提供する側にも問題がある」という考え方を持っている。
ならば正規版をきちんと、早く、便利に提供すれば、海賊版は相対的に減っていく。Steamは実際にその考え方で成功した例なので、「日本のコンテンツ業界も同じように正規流通を充実させるべきだ」という話らしい。
好むと好まざるとにかかわらず、これからそういう時代になっていくのかもしれない。

The UK could make people pay £180 a year to watch YouTube, Netflix and other streaming services.
The government is considering changing the TV Licence rules as part of the BBC’s next Royal Charter.
Right now, you only need a TV Licence for live TV or BBC iPlayer. You can watch Netflix or normal YouTube videos without one.
If the plans go ahead streaming viewers could also have to pay the annual fee.

It is interesting that people are okay with AI code because of the "it's not art" reasoning. Software dev is a type of engineering, not physical but there is still designing, implementation and lots of review that goes into it, it can absolutely be "art" in a sense.
