I'm so proud of all our candidates and continued hard work in their communities. Long may they continue to serve and grow from strength to strength 🇿🇦🤍✊🏾 @Rise_Mzansi
Much love and respect, we are rising!

Rise Mzansi shows a politics of decency and ethics. No name calling or hate fueled campaigns.
Its aim is singular in that it seeks social justice. Liberation from political exclusion is not enough. We need social recognition too.
South Africa is changing, and RISE Mzansi is part of that change. Reflecting on the party’s first local government election, National Leader @SongezoZibi highlighted the deliberate decision to contest only seven municipalities across three provinces, focusing on consolidating and growing our core support base following our 2024 debut.

Lukhona does much more than “ukuzama”.
He demonstrates that not all African men in leadership are like Gwede and Fikile.
We need serious African men like Lukhona , Songezo and Herman Mashaba in our every day politics and dialogue.
Amadoda anesidima - who speak sense. And act .
Men who don’t defend or justify incompetence and corruption.
Otherwise, our boy children will be forever bombarded with negative messages about men who look like them.
They may start believing that being a powerful man in public service comes with identifying with the likes of abo Fikile, nabo Dada , no Tat’Gwede…
Well, that is just not true. RISE ran in Johannesburg, and it's the first time RISE is contesting LGE

Today I took a moment for my son. I want to say thank you to him.
I have generally resisted using him as part of the campaign. There were many requests because those close to me know just how much of a tight bond we share. It was not easy to say no. But this campaign was not about him.
But I want to say THANK YOU to my son.
The campaig came with a disruptive element to our relationship which may never be understood fully or ever be repaired. But I truly enjoyed how much joy he derived from this campaign.
He tagged along to meetings, joined some activations, made friends with colleagues and comrades. He canvassed some moms and dads when they did drop off or pick up. He canvassed his friends at the park & they in turn went to their parents to spread the gospel.
He has been developing interesting political insights since he was 3 years old. It is beautiful to watch. He just has access to mom and dad but I try hard not to indoctrinate him. We just spend a lot of time together.
I love this guy.
Tonight I bathed him for the first time in over a month. Something I enjoy doing routinely. We had reached a place where I only got to see him during school drop off in an entire day. That I was uncompromising on.
Politics has seasons where there is no work life balance. You just grind.
But Thank You to my son. We spent all of today together criss crossing Joburg, one last time before the polls closed as we were monitoring the voting process.
I hope some of this will be lessons for him.
Ukhule Mthembu, Qhudeni, Mvelase.
We are still counting ballot papers. I've had a 22 hours day. As this is my first time being involved in the entire process, I must say I have a newfound respect for everyone who has done this before, especially the candidates and their volunteers if this is their first time as well. I love this democracy🇿🇦

Next stop: Coronationville! With just one hour left before voting stations close, we’re continuing to engage with residents and encourage everyone to make their voices heard. Every vote counts! 💙❤️💛💚

Today, I cast my vote for @Rise_Mzansi with frustration of what we have been asked to accept and with an expectation that those we elect will answer to us. We need new leaders.
Most Importantly, people died for my right to vote.

I’m not an in-front-of-the-camera gal (I’m dying inside that this exists 😂) and I’m also better with the written word, but my (poorly expressed) point remains: @LukhonaMnguni is my mayor 💙❤️💛💚 #WeNeedNewLeaders @Rise_Mzansi
Leadership is also about being willing to move beyond words and take action. That's what inspired RISE Mzansi Ward 102 councillor candidate, Robyn, when she first encountered Lukhona Mnguni and followed his thought-provoking commentary.
His decision to step forward and be part of the change inspired her own journey with RISE Mzansi.
