Kok jadi begini negara kita. Kok begini liar politik kita. *SBY*

I don’t use Figma anymore. For the past six months I’ve been uploading my consciousness directly into the ether and allowing the work to manifest through minor disturbances in the electromagnetic field. You think you are seeing the aurora borealis that's actually my brain waves. It’s a much more intuitive process. I sit completely still in my office until a founder somewhere develops a sudden inspiration for their brand positioning but in reality it was me clipping them in their brain stem, smiling down on them like one of God's children. People keep asking what tools I’m using. I understand the question. I used to think that way too. But asking me what tools I use is like asking a glass of water what software is wetness. Its a meaningless question. I don’t design anymore. I am the pixels. I am the logo. I am the little bit of space between the 'r' and the 'n' that you better make sure is kerned properly. When you increase the font size I experience physical growth. When you cut a vector point, my consciousness goes into quantum superposition. This is where the industry is going. If you're not on board, you're going to get left behind. My entire design system now lives in the collective unconscious. There’s no documentation. Your team will simply wake up knowing the button radius. If someone uses the wrong shade of blue they’ll hear a high pitched ringing sound until they correct it. Developer handoff has been so smooth since I started working this way. My effigy appears at the foot of the engineer’s bed and I open my mouth. The CSS comes out at a frequency only their fillings can receive. We’ve eliminated all meetings. I no longer send clients presentations. I enter their dreams as a white horse with an already complete interactive brand guidelines. They’re free to leave feedback by speaking into a bowl of room temperature water. I receive it immediately and disagree with it on a cellular level. Transcending this outdated material plane is my standing Tuesday meeting. Some people are uncomfortable with this. A procurement manager recently asked whether I could provide an SVG of the logo and I just told her to close her eyes and remember the first time she felt truly understood. She looked annoyed and just said their print vendor needed an SVG by today. A big adjustment has been personal. My wife asked if I could help bring in the groceries. I explained that I now exist simultaneously across every customer touchpoint. I think there’s a lot of fear right now about what happens when designers stop needing tools. But the people who adapt will be fine. You just have to be willing to let go of a few outdated ideas. Like having a body. Being legally distinguishable from a gradient. Anyway I am open for new branding projects this quarter.

Why do people hate AI creators? They didn't do anything.

Dear designer, don’t panic Use a barbell strategy for designing with AI Zoom way out. Work hard by hand to understand and architect systems / stories / the big idea Zoom way in. Pick moments to obsess unreasonably and invent clever twists in corners of the work where the human touch is irreplaceable: microinteractions / prose / animation / visuals / brand In the expansive middle, welcome the company of your obsequious robot underlings, and orchestrate them broadly with your exquisite taste and considerable suspicion

AI is a tool. You can use it to think for you. Or you can use it to learn and try things you wouldn't have attempted before. I tell everyone at Figma: we hired you because you can think. We expect you to think. Don't outsource your thinking to AI. Social media is not reality. Things are never as good or bad as they seem. Seeing things as they are and seeking truth are skills to develop. Curiosity must be cultivated. Pulling the level of a slop/slot machine can be weirdly exhausting and depleting. It can be hard and even anxiety inducing to step away when things are moving so fast, but time away from the computer is a must right now.
Replying to @zoink
@zoink how do you keep your independent thinking in this tsunami of tech-bro-ai gloom and doom?

I think there are roughly two kinds of designers. One type really loves design itself. They care deeply about the craft, the details, the references, what other designers think, pushing the medium, making something beautiful, elegant, original. The craft is, at least partly, the outcome. The other type mostly sees design as a tool. They care about whether the product works better. Whether users understand it. Whether conversion goes up. Whether the business grows. Whether something useful actually ships. The craft still matters, but mostly in service of moving the needle. I’ve realized I’m very much in the second camp. And I think that explains why I sometimes feel a bit out of place in very design-heavy environment. I don’t get that much satisfaction from making something impressive to other designers if it doesn’t materially improve anything. I’d much rather ship something slightly less clever that gets used, makes money, solves a real problem, or teaches us something. Neither approach is necessarily better. But they produce very different designers — and probably very different places where those designers do their best work.

Why no one expects an architect to be a builder, but they expect designers to be engineers?

i don’t want to: - work at a fast-moving startup - rush design just to ship faster - be corporate and toxic - spend my days in meetings about work instead of doing the work - work on things i would never put in my portfolio - sell my time rather than expertise - outsource my creativity to non-creative people i do want to: - work with creative open-minded people - work with people who understand why design matters - curate and spotlight genuinely good work - build for communities i care about - have enough freedom to choose what deserves my attention - help other designers {you can insert suggestions in replies} - make an impact on tech without compromising humanity

Anthropic says new Claude models will embed invisible watermarks in all generated text, everywhere Claude is offered. The watermark is part of the text, it isn't metadata: "it will travel with the text when it's copied and pasted elsewhere, and may persist through some editing." This starts with models launched on or after August 2, 2026, under an EU AI Act code Anthropic signed. Anthropic is still working on adding it to current models. The rollout is worldwide.

What if you’re not supposed to have a long-term plan? @molly_g has worked with and studied some of the most successful people in the world, and she's noticed a surprising pattern: none of them had a plan for their careers. Instead, their paths emerged. "Emergence tells us there’s a different way to build a career: not by optimizing toward a destination but by getting really clear on your principles, learning to follow your energy, and trusting that the path will reveal itself. In some ways, an emergent career is harder to manage than having a plan and staying loyal to it. There are moments of real uncertainty, and stretches where you can’t see where you’re going. But all of that uncertainty (and all of that faith) is exactly what creates room for the opportunities you couldn’t have seen coming—which, in my experience, are the ones that matter most to a career that works for you." She makes the case in today's guest post: lennysnewsletter.com/p/what-…

The Pope has weighed in: AI isn't magic. It is produced by a currently deeply exploitative, extractive supply chain. It challenges human dignity; it could fuel a new colonialism. And among the greatest challenges of our time will be to redirect its path of development.
Humanity, created by God in all its grandeur, is today facing a pivotal choice: either to construct a new Tower of Babel or to build the city in which God and humanity dwell together. In Jesus Christ, this humanity in its grandeur becomes the Way, the Truth and the Life, opening the path for each of us to grow toward fullness. #MagnificaHumanitas vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

you need to be promptmaxxing. sorry, you need to stop prompting. you need to write loops. your loops need to be agentic. your agents need to be prompting your loops. you need recursive loops within your agentic workflows. you need to design while loops that constantly generate new agentic workflows from first principles. you need to migrate from human-first tokenmaxxing to agent-first loopmaxxing. you need to be a loop-pilled tokenmaxxed agentcore vibe coder. you are now in your loop era. be in your loop era. be loopy
