Why did I write a book about China’s war on poverty? Why spend years documenting how a nation of 1.4 billion lifted 600 million people out of destitution in a single generation? Because I love the people of the United States of America. Those who insist we must hate China, who treat every Chinese success as a threat and every statistic as propaganda, are not protecting us. They are trying to manipulate the American people with hate, fear, and deceptions. They are feeding our fears and counting on our ignorance. The USA is stronger through learning about the strengths and successes of other nations. We can ONLY improve ourselves by understanding the other 200 nations of people in our shared world. I live here in China. So, I have chosen to share real-world knowledge about China’s strengths and successes. That’s patriotism. That’s hoping we can learn from China’s will to help its people. I love the people of China, yes. But I also love the people of my country, the United States of America. Their government made poverty elimination a central national priority and then did the hard, unglamorous work of building roads, relocating villages, expanding education, and delivering basic healthcare to places that had almost nothing. China’s successes are not just measurable; they are visible. I, me, I’ve personally visited hundreds of Chinese villages, and travelled to every single province of China, and every Special Autonomous Region. China’s success in this regard isn’t propaganda; it’s very real. Pretending this did not happen, or that it only happened because of some sinister design, does not make America safer or stronger. It just makes us less informed. It makes us ignorant. China’s people are not our enemies. They’re our global brothers and sisters. They want stable lives, better futures for their kids, and peaceful relations with the outside world, including the United States. Telling the truth about what China has actually achieved in reducing poverty is patriotic. It is the most patriotic thing I can do: refuse to let my fellow Americans be manipulated by fear and half-truths, and insist we see the world as it is rather than as someone else needs us to see it. That is why I wrote the book. To help us learn about the real world and what is happening in our closest peer.

139 people were arrested in the UK yesterday because it’s now ILLEGAL to say you support Palestine Action. So yesterday I wrote a LEGAL song for my many friends and rellies in the UK who are campaigning for peace in Gaza! Do you think this would this get round the UK law?

Why are international law violations condemned when committed by America’s enemies but ignored when committed by its allies?Saddam was punished,so why is Netanyahu treated differently?Justice must be equal. No one, not even the United States, is above the law. History will judge.

"Singapore has a quality captured by the Chinese idiom: “a sea that takes in a hundred rivers”. The city is willing to learn from everyone else, and I believe that is what gives it an advantage" Sg is also changing, no shame learning from someone who has become better than us.

“We want to shape trade so that it continues to bring benefits to both sides" EU want chinese to buy eu goods but doesnt want to buy chinese goods. When mercedes and vw dominated china car market, it was "win win". Now byd has replaced both in china (not germany) and its "unfair"

In China, police confronted a woman carrying two kitchen knives. They used shields, catchpoles and coordinated restraint to disarm and subdue her without firearms. In California, a DHS agent fired a less-lethal projectile at close range into 21-year-old Kaden Rummler's face, leaving him permanently blind in one eye.

I don't know why they are writing as if this has only become an issue over the last few years when it had already become a serious issue over 20 years ago ⬇️. I know several people whose lives have been ruined by a cocaine habit that started around then. theguardian.com/uk/2001/apr/…

That brain-dead Belgian idiot followed me and showed up under my tweet about Japan’s nuclear threat, using Palestinian bodies as props just to get some attention — then cried “harassment” when I answered him. You came to me. You followed me. You kept replying to me. And now you are pretending I chased you? Fucking pathetic. You are just a reply guy discovering that entering someone else’s timeline does not come with immunity from being answered. You wanted attention. You got it. Now stop crying because the attention was not flattering. You kicked the door open yourself and are now screaming that the homeowner invaded your house.

Between 1995 and 2000, millions of hectares of palm oil trees were planted in sumatra and kalimantan. After 25-30 years, the trees are old and need to be replanted. But utting down trees and removing old roots is expensive, so they burn. Its economics and illegal

Three outages a day. At this point X should stop calling itself the “everything app” and start calling itself the “sometimes app.”
