Soapbox time: I believe a solid international scouting pipeline is one of the biggest roster-building advantages a team can have. Because of the negotiating leverage that the CBA provides, reserved players offer a straight-line path to surplus value. (See: Pauline Astier.)
Outside of the draft, it's hard to find quality players who can be paid under $400,000. Paying attention to the international game is as important as ever.

GABBY WILLIAMS !

Another woman who was an NBA assistant coach just won a WNBA Championship, very quickly, as a head coach. Makes you think.

THE VALKYRIES ARE CHAMPIONS. Fueled by a Herculean second half by Gabby Williams, Golden State stayed the course and won the first Game 7 in WNBA history.
Two years ago, Joe Lacob told Natalie Nakase she had to win a title within five years.
Mission accomplished.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
During the 2015 WNBA playoffs, while playing for the NY Liberty, we were forced to play back-to-back playoff games against Washington and Indiana.
Fast forward to 2026, Game 6 of the WNBA Finals is being played at 12:30pm on a Thursday to accommodate an NBA regular-season game.
Different circumstances, same underlying issue. At what point do we address the structural sexism embedded in women’s sports?

Among the things Atlanta did well in the first half (besides shooting the light out) was utilizing Naz Hillmon as more of a screener on ball. More Charles in the backend and Stokes away from the ball, which plays well with ghosting the Empty screens (team-wide) to up their 3PAr.
