Great to see this study ready for publication. We used AI image processing techniques to solve decades-old problems in invasive coronary Doppler. Thanks to my supervisors @ImperialNHLI @RicardoPetraco and @ProfDFrancis.
Can AI help us on the diagnosis of coronary microvascular disease?
Outstanding innovative work by @henselig @mshunshin and the team @ImperialNHLI @ImperialNHS now accepted in @ESC_Journals digital health.
We set to use AI to improve reliability of invasive Doppler-based CFR.

Study by Akintoye et al. Right ventricle free wall strain (RVFWS) + tricuspid regurgitant volume (RVol) were strongest predictors of mortality in asymptomatic TR. The optimal discriminatory thresholds for these parameters were RVFWS <−19% and RVol >45 mL.

In our CPET-stratified analysis🏃of ORBITA published in #EHJ, we show that the presence of an oxygen pulse plateau correlated with ⬆️ ischaemia on stress echo and FFR.
Many trainees approached me at the Boston @AATSHQ meeting and asked for advice about what is the best way to hit the ground running once they graduate. I told them that they should learn how to do a CABG. That is the one procedure that you will be judged on more than any other.
An excellent piece on our recent work in European Heart Journal by @VTaqMD. How do we harness coronary flow's potential to guide us as clinicians and innovators?

Our work on the long-term significance of coronary flow reserve published today in EHJ @ESC_Journals. Nearly 80 studies and 60k patients. A clear link between impaired CFR and worse clinical outcomes. A superhuman effort by @Mihir_Kelshiker.
Delighted that our paper “Coronary Flow Reserve and Cardiovascular Outcomes: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis” was published in EHJ @ESC_Journals ; in which we measured the prognostic association of CFR on both mortality and MACE, across all studied pathologies —
An interesting Anomalous Coronary Artery Study case. We believe so-called ‘malignant’ coronary arteries are a benign condition, in many cases, but can’t be sure. Decisions about when to offer surgery are guided by limited data. @ImperialNHLI @ImperialNHS
Not just another angiogram. A typical challenging case from our Invasive Anomalous Coronary Artery Study @ImperialNHLI led by @henselig
Do these malignant arteries really cause ischaemia? We are seeking to answer it invasively as well as with echo and MRI.
