Announcing ASO Skill!
An API for ASO research.
Search term rankings, difficulty and popularity.
Ask Claude to find popular keywords with low difficulty.
Create your own ASO tool (it's what's powering ASO Suite)
Only pay for what you use.
Skill, CLI, MCP, API.
I just can't get enough of watching this 16 year old kid run.
His technique is SO COOL. I'm in awe. Looks incredible effortless and he's currently out there winning U18 European championships.
Remember the name, Bronson Hearn-Smith! π
Improved ASO Suite browse endpoint from 65(!) seconds to 3.5 seconds!
Working on improving SQL queries across the board.
Anyone else having issues with @RevenueCat not loading its paywall?
Got a user report but don't see anything on their status page.
Ended up 25th place at my local marathon race with a time of 03:05:40!
Only my second ever marathon, and last one was around 4.5 hours so I'm thrilled! π
I've only ever really used ChatGPT and Codex.
Is Claude worth testing?
It has worked so well, I'm on the Pro $200/m plan but now they're suddenly halving the current limits but keeping the same price.
"night routine" had a difficulty score of 42.
Several of the apps ranking at the top had only 0β6 ratings.
That felt wrong, so I changed the model to put more weight on the apps that actually rank for each keyword.
The new scores are live in ASO Skill and ASO Suite.
Did a treadmill VO2 thresholds test.
Was afraid of falling off the treadmill at the end so had to stop! π
Pro VOΒ²max, I'll take that!
This is why I have:
- ASO Suite (micro-SaaS)
- ASO Skill (API+MCP)
- Watchletic (workout app)
You're wasting your time
If you're working on anything that's not:
- api (screenshotone)
- can be consumed via mcp (highsfield)
- niched ai agent (seobot)
- has a network effect (X)
- multi-sided marketplace (tinyadz)
- shared economy (airbnb)
- a game
- hardware (robots, automations, etc)
- deep ai ( Jev )
- attention-driven (outbid, adcar)
- brand-driven (marc lou selling his body)
- data (directories, content, newsletters) for llms
- owned distribution (podcasts, communities)
- local monopoly or hyper-niched product for slow audiences
Some "low-popularity" keywords have more search activity than other ASO tools show.
Iβve started finding this in ASO Suite.
For example: for the three keywords in this screenshot, it gives each a popularity score of 8, indicating more than 0 search volume. Astro gives them 5.
In doing research for Google Play popularity score for my ASO products I believe I've actually found a new signal to use for App Store popularity!
I found evidence of keyword search volume even for keywords with the censored 5 popularity score.
Now to determine how much value this signal should give to the popularity scores.
Finally got around to speeding up the the Features endpoint for ASO Suite.
It used to take 1.5 minutes, now it takes 567 ms.
