Rica Paras, whose real name is Richard Paras, is the first transgender woman to enter the Pinoy Big Brother house as a contestant in Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up back in 2009.
On her first week inside the house, Big Brother gave her a secret task with fellow House A housemate Rob Stumvoll. Their mission was to pretend they were in a romantic relationship and convince the other housemates that they were truly a couple. They pulled it off successfully, complete with convincing romantic moments, though things became awkward between them once the task was revealed to everyone.
During her stay, Rica formed close friendships with Melai Cantiveros and Carol Batay, once became Head of Household, and also faced some discrimination, including being called “She-Man” by another housemate. She remained until Day 119 as one of Big Brother’s Darlings and left the house without tears, encouraging everyone to fight for what they believe in.
