Bruce Straley, the former Naughty Dog director behind The Last of Us and Uncharted 4, says AAA games have gotten “boring.”
He says modern games look incredible, but the gameplay itself doesn’t excite him like it used to.
Talking about God of War: Laufey, Straley praised the visuals, saying “every pixel is mindblowing,” but added: “I’m not excited.”
He’s not blaming the God of War team. His criticism is aimed at AAA games in general, saying “it feels like there’s no opportunity to inject fresh, innovative ideas.”
