What a great day at Yale's Advancing Care in Liver Cancer: Surveillance, Team-Based Care, and Emerging Therapies — A Patient and Community Symposium! It was wonderful to bring together patients, families, members of the community, and experts from across our multidisciplinary liver cancer team for a day of informative presentations and engaging discussions. I had the opportunity to speak about integrating liver-directed therapies into multidisciplinary liver cancer care. Throughout the program, there were many thoughtful questions from attendees, leading to valuable discussions about the different aspects of liver cancer care. A particular highlight was hearing from two patients who shared their personal experiences with liver cancer. The multidisciplinary approach is particularly important in liver cancer, where patients may benefit from a number of different treatment options throughout the course of their care. The symposium was also recorded, and we hope to share the presentations with those who were unable to attend. Many thanks to the organizers, speakers, and especially the patients and families who joined us and contributed to such a successful program. #LiverCancer #InterventionalOncology #MultidisciplinaryCare #CancerCare @YaleMed @YaleRadiology @Yale_IR @YaleIMed @YaleDigestive @YaleLiverCancer @YaleCancer @SmilowCancer @MarioStrazzabos @CatherineMezza1 @sundar__raghav

Proud to see Team Yale — YNHH Liver Legends — at the Liver Life Walk in Connecticut yesterday! Together, we celebrated the lives saved through liver transplantation, honored and expressed our deepest gratitude to organ donors and their families, and helped raise awareness about liver disease and the lifesaving impact of transplantation. It was wonderful to walk together as one team — patients, families, transplant professionals, and our community — united by hope, gratitude, and a shared mission to save more lives. #YNHHLiverLegends #YaleTransplant #LiverLifeWalk #LiverTransplant #OrganDonation #DonateLife #LiverHealth Hubbard Park in Meriden hosts walk for American Liver Foundation wtnh.com/news/connecticut/ne…

Thank you for visiting us at Yale, George!@CHPtransplant Dr. George Mazariegos from UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh gave an inspiring and insightful Surgery Grand Rounds at Yale this morning. He took us to the front lines of pediatric liver transplantation and shared his vision for how we can continue to advance the field and improve the lives of children with end-stage liver disease. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with you, Kyle, and the entire UPMC Children’s pediatric liver transplant team—and to working together to advance pediatric liver transplantation. #YaleSurgery #YaleTransplant #PediatricTransplant #LiverTransplant #UPMC @YaleMed @YNHH @ynhhealth @YaleTransplant

Congratulations, John👏👏👏
Excited to share "Preoperative Olanzapine and Quality of Recovery after Ambulatory Surgery: A Randomized Clinical Trial" -- out now in @_Anesthesiology! Bottom line: for high risk patients, 5 mg pre-op olanzapine + standard prophylaxis = improved quality of recovery and ↓ PDNV

Please join us for our upcoming Advancing Care in Liver Cancer: Surveillance, Team-Based Care, and Emerging Therapies — A Patient and Community Symposium on Saturday, October 17 at Yale. This program will bring together patients, families, members of the community, and experts from across our multidisciplinary liver cancer team to discuss surveillance and early detection, liver-directed therapies, transplantation, emerging treatments and clinical trials, and survivorship. I will be speaking about integrating liver-directed therapies into multidisciplinary liver cancer care and will also moderate a discussion focused on collaborating with our patients to improve care. The multidisciplinary approach is particularly important in liver cancer, where patients may benefit from a number of different treatment options throughout the course of their care. I look forward to what should be a very informative and interactive program. It was an incredible symposium on robotic kidney and liver transplants. The future is here. A huge round of applause to the organizing committee and @moeltemamy.
What a Day 1 at the #SORT26 Symposium. Meeting colleagues from all over the world, exchanging ideas, and forming genuine friendships. The dinner at the Cleveland Museum of Art was the perfect close. @CleClinicUro @ClevelandArt @ASTSChimera

Outstanding talk by @LorenLaine2 as part of the @barjammar lecture at #DDW2026 on the importance of acid suppression (PPIs vs PCABs 💊🥊 💊) in H pylori treatment. Dosing matters when trying to ⬇️ pH and ensure antibiotic stability!
