Looking forward to attending this on behalf of @huddref. A discussion with stakeholders to address an issue that posses the biggest challenge in recruiting and retaining officials is long overdue. Looking forward to what I hope is a positive meeting ready for next season.
📩 The RFL have called a meeting of community clubs to address the increasing number of incidents relating to touchline behaviour and match official abuse.

As a sport we are seeing more and more referee abuse.
Unfortunately the scariest part of it, it’s adults who are verbally abusing referees who are under the age of 18, which is our biggest issue.
This needs to stop, this is an safeguarding issue and as a sport we are failing.

Jack Broadbent could have been refereeing tonight’s @Saints1890 v @leedsrhinos clash had history played out differently, and believes taking up the whistle gave him an extra perspective on the game
