Okay I read it. Will and Joe present an investment thesis for a proposed inevitable future world. I deeply hope the world they propose as a given never happens. The world is a dystopia where intelligence is abundant while ordinary people see no stable, optimistic future for themselves or their children. I do not want my kids or your kids to live in that world. Let's make a different world.

High fashion is not exactly my usual territory but look at this... Prada’s entire holiday campaign was drawn by hand. Probably the biggest thing they put out all year and the whole point of it is that people spent bloody ages making it. This is what all the doomers are missing about AI. Once a machine can make the image for free, the thing that sets you apart is that a human did it. Human craft becomes the luxury good. Prada have worked it out before most economists have. Funnily enough I wrote about exactly this today... what stays scarce when intelligence is free. I'll link the full piece below for anyone interested

"a 'zone of silence,' says 'self-censorship is mandatory for all of us.'" #dopegame
Border & Cartel update 29 October 2026 THE PRESS •The Inter American Press Association closed its 82nd General Assembly concluding that nine journalists were killed across the Americas in the past six months: three in Mexico, two in Colombia, two in Guatemala, one in Peru and one in Haiti. IAPA says the violence has come alongside judicial harassment and official discrediting of the press. Haitian journalist Wesly Renaud Jean has been missing since Sept. 12. •CPJ's Mexico representative, Jan-Albert Hootsen, says about 98% of killings of Mexican journalists go unpunished, and 100% of journalist disappearances do. He warns that violence against the press often spikes in a president's second year, which is where Sheinbaum is now. •A Guerrero reporter in Iguala, a city reporters call a "zone of silence," says "self-censorship is mandatory for all of us." In Culiacán, reporters say they avoid even naming Los Chapitos or La Mayiza. •Chiapas: human rights defender Reynaldo Pérez Pérez was shot dead Wednesday by two men on a motorcycle in Chenalhó. He was in Mexico's federal protection program, and UN rapporteurs had warned Mexico about death threats and an attempted disappearance. The state prosecutor says there is no line of investigation yet. THE BORDER •Breitbart Texas: federal agents arrested Julio Rodolfo Gonzalez at his Eagle Pass home on a sealed money-laundering warrant out of Dallas. Breitbart News Foundation first exposed his alleged pipeline in November 2025, moving stolen fuel from Texas into Mexico with help from corrupt Mexican officials. A Del Rio magistrate ordered him transferred to the Northern District of Texas. •Federal prosecutors in Nashville unsealed charges against 24 people in an alleged Sinaloa Cartel-linked drug ring. Two of them allegedly helped run it from inside Tennessee prisons. Authorities seized about 500 kilos of meth, 20 kilos of fentanyl, 60 kilos of cocaine and more than $375,000. MEXICO •Marines and federal agents arrested Carlos César Cruz Muñoz, "El Semáforo," in Tuxtepec, Oaxaca. Authorities call him the CJNG regional boss for southern Veracruz and the Oaxaca border, and the successor to "El Tanque," who was arrested Oct. 5. A woman accused of being his logistics operator was also arrested. The government says 16 other CJNG members have been arrested in the region. •Sinaloa: 12 people were killed Tuesday, mostly in Culiacán and Mazatlán. Gunmen took six young men from Villas del Real and a couple from a Culiacán sushi restaurant. In Mazatlán, a 13-year-old was killed and a human head was left in a cooler near city hall. Luz Noticias reports the young people taken in Villas del Real were found alive Wednesday morning. •Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch arrived in Culiacán Wednesday and met with interim Gov. Graciela Domínguez and state security commanders. No agreements were announced. GOVERNMENT & CARTELS •Michoacán: prosecutors say three of the 33 people arrested in the killing of Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo are relatives of Uruapan's own welfare secretary, Alejandra Vargas Rauda. One is her son, who was one of Manzo's bodyguards. She has ignored three subpoenas. Gov. Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla said everything points to "a very deep infiltration" of Manzo's inner circle by criminal groups. Manzo's former security chief is still wanted on an arrest warrant. WASHINGTON •UPI counts Tuesday's Eastern Pacific strike, which killed five, as the 72nd U.S. strike on alleged drug boats since September 2025, with at least 243 people killed. A senior Pentagon official compared the cartels to al-Qaeda and ISIS. LATIN AMERICA •Colombia: police, working with the FBI, arrested two Mexicans known as "La Patrona" and "Pau" in Barranquilla for extradition to the U.S. Authorities say they were links between CJNG and the Clan del Golfo moving cocaine to the U.S. and Europe. Police say the operation also stopped a one-ton cocaine shipment. •Breitbart: U.N. Ambassador Mike Waltz says the U.S. is expelling a Cuban diplomat who "tried to assault" an American diplomat at the U.N.

In the 01940s, the Reber Plan proposed damming San Francisco Bay to turn it into two vast freshwater lakes. The Army Corps of Engineers built the Bay Model in 01956 to test the effects of the proposal. Before computer modeling, there was only one way to simulate a hydrological system as enormous and complex as the Bay Area: build it.  The Long Now team recently visited the model, which remained an active research tool until 02000, and got to experience the “miniature” up close (it’s 1.5 acres!). It is housed in a cavernous warehouse on the Sausalito waterfront, and its tides still run on a compressed clock, with a full “day” passing every 15 minutes. The Reber Plan was ultimately abandoned after the model showed it would completely devastate the ecosystems and estuaries. The Bay Model is a remarkable artifact from an era of slide rules and analog science. A reminder of what it looks like to test our largest decisions with patience before committing future generations to the consequences. Big Sur, California just recorded its warmest water temperature in recorded history. 67.3°F on Monday, 11°F above normal. Record warm waters for October now span much of the California coast from San Diego to the Bay Area. You can see well above normal sea surface temperatures spreading north throughout October.

Super Boÿ Math Time Show Vday 2027 Venice CA BEACH CLUB
Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize. The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets. While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks. Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second.

How much damage can one man do on the court and in the front office
The Warriors’ inevitable downfall was set in motion by their mishandling of the Draymond-Poole incident, Steph’s overly passive leadership, and Kerr’s inability to evolve beyond small-ball philosophy.

This is going to be a generational winter for coastal flooding and erosion along California’s coast. A marine heatwave plus a Kelvin Wave from El Niño have already rapidly raised water levels in recent weeks. Combined with king tides this winter, it’s likely every coastal city from the Bay Area to SoCal will see their highest water levels in recorded history.

WTF, $3000 Samsung TV has an always-on mic, automatic content recognition, geo tracking, network mapping, and ships your data to Samsung + 400 partners. Bro Rooted a brand-new 2025 Samsung TV after noticing absurdly targeted ads. Firmware was locked down, so zero-days it was. Got a root shell. then found: always-on voice service, ACR, geo, full telemetry pipeline, and four separate DRM systems. This isn’t a bug, It’s the product bro.
