For years, Job Simulator was the hottest app with the kids. Now they can have Cooking Simulator. Glorious.
Miso: Spatial Cooking, now on TestFlight for Apple Vision Pro

honestly @TimSweeneyEpic is doing more for the future of App Store than anybody else at apple.
if App Store even had one major competition, it would not have survived the latest wave of wrongful review/ban cases.

Hey @johnternus hope this gets through your filter.
Microsoft did something stupid like this when I worked there.
Steve Ballmer apologized to the company and fixed the problem.
He got my loyalty by doing so.
Hope you can pull inspiration to fix this problem from his leadership.
If you have an Apple developer account or an app in the App Store, read this now and share it.
Apple rejects your app. The notice is vague, so you fix what you reasonably think is wrong and resubmit.
Apple approves it.
Months later, with nothing in review, Apple terminates your account under 3.2(f) for “a pattern of manipulative or misleading behavior.” Every app gone. No explanation of what you did.
Your crime? Trusting the approval.
Apple’s own reviewer looked at your fix, with your rejection history in front of them, and said yes. Then Apple turned that yes into evidence against you.
So who’s misleading whom?
I ran App Review for seven years and wrote the guidelines. 3.2(f) used to mean real fraud. Now it’s being used against developers who did exactly what Apple approved.
I’ve made this Substack post free for everyone. Every developer needs to see it before this happens to them.
Share it before someone you know gets that email.

The most embarrassing team inside Apple is undoubtedly the App Review team. The entire team needs to be terminated, effectively immediately. Clear house and start fresh.
I was tired of Apple rejecting my new apps, so I created a first-time launch flow that uses mock hands to showcase the main feature of holding a camera and forces them to experience it.
Apple has started a war against their own developers. The dystopian era is upon us.
Let this be our declaration of war against the monopolization of software distribution.
We know you’re reading this, @Apple, @tim_cook, @cue, @johnternus
You may have the power to terminate our accounts, remove our work, and close the doors we spent years trying to open.
But you do not have the power to silence the generation that built its future on your platforms.
We are not asking you to guarantee our success. We are demanding the freedom to pursue it.
You can control your App Store. You cannot claim ownership over our ambition, our creativity, or our right to build.
We told you this would only get louder.
We intend to keep that promise.
Apple can reinstate my developer account today, tomorrow, or next week. It won’t change a thing.
I won’t go silent just because I got my account back like most of the developers that went public & and pretend nothing happened after getting it back.
I’m done building my future around the possibility that an automated decision could erase years of work overnight, with no meaningful way to challenge it.
And im not waiting for apples automated ticket to catch up.
1. I’ll be distributing nova via Website download & practicing my rights to distribute freely as a developer via download via website link.
2. I’m going to build an alternative to the App Store. And when independent native app distribution becomes available globally, I intend to be there competing.
But to build something with genuine purpose. A marketplace where developers are treated as partners, consumers have real choices, and great products earn their place through merit.
We spent over a year building Nova, won two industry awards, and earned our users’ trust. That reputation wasn’t handed to us by Apple. We earned it.
Apple can keep its App Store, its standards, and its rules and its awful catalog of dull “MRR” apps. I have no interest in taking that away.
I want to prove that you can build a successful marketplace by empowering developers instead of making them dependent on you.
This stopped being about one developer account a long time ago.
It’s about making sure the next generation of builders has a choice we never had.
@Apple @AppStore you guys have not only pissed off your developers, but you pissed off the crypto community for removing nova. The power of these communities is like no other.
2027 will be profound year.
