To train user models / personal agents that best understand us, it helps to have access to all of our scattered digital footprint. For my first release in my PhD, I’m open-sourcing **Homecoming**, a desktop app that automatically aggregates all your personal context across all applications that you’ve accessed over your lifetime. It helps auto-request your data packages from over 2000 supported websites, and manages them locally in one place you can query, explore, and use for any downstream application. All your messages, emails, tiktok scrolling activity, goodreads, netflix, strava… even your 6th grade Wattpad account. You can even explore the features companies use to target ads at you.
This project was super fun to work on as I realized there is so much data about me that I didn’t even know existed. It’s a nice feeling to gain sovereignty over my data.
All data stays local, unless you choose otherwise. Lmk how it is!

1/n I’m thrilled to share that our @OpenAI reasoning system scored high enough to achieve gold 🥇🥇 in one of the world’s top programming competitions - the 2025 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) - placing first among AI participants! 👨💻👨💻

It's deeply concerning that one of the best AI researchers I've worked with, @kaicathyc, was denied a U.S. green card today. A Canadian who's lived and contributed here for 12 years now has to leave. We’re risking America’s AI leadership when we turn away talent like this.

We're releasing a preview of OpenAI o1—a new series of AI models designed to spend more time thinking before they respond.
These models can reason through complex tasks and solve harder problems than previous models in science, coding, and math. openai.com/index/introducing…

the best case for exercise I currently have is that experiencing your body being able to do something it could not do before is a visceral, undeniable message to your subconscious that change in your life is possible

We have reached an agreement in principle for Sam Altman to return to OpenAI as CEO with a new initial board of Bret Taylor (Chair), Larry Summers, and Adam D'Angelo.
We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this.

Lots of tweet from almost everyone involved, clarifying the situation and position. But i haven’t heard from three board members at the center of this.

We trained an AI using process supervision — rewarding the thought process rather than the outcome — to achieve new state-of-art in mathematical reasoning. Encouraging sign for alignment of advanced AIs: …openai.com/research/improvin…
