Why we need an OS for everything?
I think it is more useful if you create a super app that sits on top of existing OS (I know it is the definition of an "app").
Not understanding the point of this. Why burn tokens on background OS cycles and apps when you can just have Hermes control your entire computer as is with an existing OS
Good question but thats actually the point. Hermes OS isn’t about using AI tokens to replace low-level OS processes. macOS still handles all of that.
The idea is to make Hermes the primary interface to the computer instead of another app running on it. Hermes only gets involved when there’s intent or automation: open apps, manage files, run workflows, control dev environments, spawn agents, etc.
So basically: macOS runs the computer. Hermes OS runs how you interact with it.
I had this very idea. Baking Hermes into NixOS with quicksheell and hyprland. I’ve made some progress. Yours looks much further along lol
