🦆 One more @duckdb 2.0.0 update: the ADBC driver for Quack is out of preview. Version 0.1.0 supports DuckDB 2.0.0. To install it: dbc install quack In our simple benchmark on localhost, the new driver pulled large results 6× faster than the preview driver.

ICYMI: Quack lets @duckdb run as a server that clients query over the network, instead of embedded inside an application. It debuted in DuckDB 1.5.3, and 2.0.0 made it substantially faster and more stable. Congrats to the @ducklabs_com team on a big release!

🦆 @duckdb 2.0.0 is now on the ADBC driver registry: dbc install duckdb Query it from Python, R, Go, Java, Rust, and more through one API. New for ADBC users: • 3–5× faster bulk ingest of large Arrow batches • VARIANT comes back as Arrow's canonical Parquet Variant type

🦆 It's @duckdb 2.0.0 release day! We maintain three DuckDB–ADBC integrations and have updated them all for 2.0.0. First up: the adbc community extension, which connects DuckDB to any database with an ADBC driver: INSTALL adbc FROM community; LOAD adbc; More below 👇

Amateurs. Who needs agents for this? I once deleted my whole macOS home directory with a hand-coded script that incorrectly split a file path that contained a directory named ~
Opus 5.5 just deleted my entire fucking C drive. Thank GOD I have daily backups running to my Synology NAS, but holy fucking shit. This is insane. If I didn't have these backups running I'd be thoroughly fucking devastated.

We just shipped our official ADBC driver, in partnership with @columnar_tech. clickhou.se/4gx3nwq One command installs a signed binary, and it speaks Apache Arrow natively, so results move from ClickHouse into your app with zero conversion. Ruby, R, and C get real ClickHouse access for the first time.

📣 Introducing databow: one command-line tool to query them all, built with Rust and ADBC. Query any SQL source that has an ADBC driver (30+ and counting) right from your terminal with one simple CLI. To install 👉 uv tool install databow Link to announcement in the comments👇

We heard you: ADBC is great, but you need it on mainframes. Introducing ADBC for COBOL. The same connectors that work with Python, Rust, and Go now work with a language originally designed for punch cards. Blog post and repo in the comments.

The fastest operation is the one you don’t have to do. When a database natively supports @ApacheArrow, ADBC can speed up fetching and ingestion by eliminating costly row/column conversions. How much faster is it in practice? We ran some benchmarks to find out. Link below 👇
