Will still lurk here but now migrating over to the other place where I’ll probably end up spamming people with cat pics…
Really good article on why celebrating 'miracle cures' for deafness is not straightforward for many deaf people - I share all of these sentiments theguardian.com/commentisfre…
And @tasha_f_stones has even inspired me to try a bit of baking. That said, might leave it a year or so before I put my Bake Off application in…
Have absolutely loved watching our @tasha_f_stones on #GBBO Top highlight for me is not bake-related but was when Tasha decided to do a voice switch off and sign instead - showing deaf young people that it’s perfectly ok to switch when it feels right
Katsulutely mind-blowing - well done @tasha_f_stones!
Tasha's 'Japanese Katsu & Matcha' Illusion Biscuits Showstopper. #GBBO
Belatedly catching up on #BakeOff - this was insanely brilliant. Full of lovely warm feelings for the so so positive deaf representation from @tasha_f_stones #QueenOfTahini
The beauty of baking. Tasha’s incredible Robin Cake Showstopper has us chirping with joy! 👏 👏 #GBBO
Deaf representation at its very best - can’t wait to see Tasha showing us all some amazing bakes!
hahahaha well this is all a bit bonkers. I went and baked in that big white tent!! I'm on the Great British Bake Off!
I've acquired a whole new family in the bakers' dozen and they are extraordinarily wonderful.

I want to see a subtitled film at ANY TIME along with my hearing partner and friends. I also want cinemas to stop wasting time on gimmicks like this and to focus on investing in making on demand subtitles a thing. Is that so hard for the cinemas to understand?
Cinema chains Vue, Cineworld and Odeon are to put on more subtitled screenings at their venues from today, for one week only as part of #DeafAwarenessWeek.
The temporary move has been slammed as a “publicity-seeking gimmick” by @NDCS_UK.
