Under David Eby and the NDP, B.C.’s economy has grown slower than the rest of Canada for the first time in more than 20 years. That didn’t happen by chance: • Taxes keep going up, on businesses and on you. • Permits take far too long. • Construction red tape drives up the cost of everything that gets built. B.C. has become a harder place to build and invest, and the jobs and projects have gone elsewhere. B.C. still has everything it needs to lead again. What it needs now is a government that stops getting in the way. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

Under the NDP, nearly half of B.C.’s private industries have lost workers since 2019. The NDP calls itself the party of working people. Tell that to the food plant worker whose shift was cut for good. Tell that to the farm family that can’t make the numbers work anymore. Tell that to the log truck driver who pulled up to a mill gate that’s been chained shut. And the NDP let it happen. Their taxes, rising costs and red tape made it harder to keep these jobs in B.C. On October 24, vote for a government that will help B.C. businesses, and the people who work for them, thrive again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

David Eby keeps growing government while choking off the businesses and people who pay for it. Government doesn't make its own money. Every dollar comes from your local contractor, the family restaurant on your main street, your mechanic and the people who work for them. Yet the NDP has grown government seven times faster than the economy that pays for it. When the money runs out, you get higher taxes. Local businesses stop growing, families spend less and more people leave for Alberta. That leaves even less money, and the cycle starts again. B.C. can't afford four more years of this. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

The NDP government promised Cowichan Valley families a new hospital for $887 million. The bill is now about $1.45 billion. • That's $559 million more for the same hospital, a 60% jump. • Patients won't walk through its doors until 2027, years later than promised. Yes, prices went up everywhere after COVID. But the NDP made it worse. Their rules limited who could build this hospital, shutting out 85% of B.C.'s construction companies and their skilled workers. Fewer builders competing for the job has turned into higher costs and a longer wait. And Cowichan isn't a one-off. Across B.C., the NDP is borrowing record amounts for projects that keep running late and over budget, you're stuck paying for every dollar of it. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

Under David Eby, B.C. has stopped being the place Canadians move to. We used to gain about 20,000 people a year from other provinces. Now it's about 500. Meanwhile, roughly 9,000 more British Columbians a year have moved to Alberta than came back. Under Eby: • Homes are out of reach for too many families, whether they're buying or renting. • Taxes are high, and Eby keeps adding new ones. • Qualified, experienced construction workers can't find enough work, and the NDP's onerous rules shut most of them out of public projects. Every family that leaves takes its paycheque and its skills with it. That means fewer customers for local businesses, fewer coaches and volunteers in our communities, and grandparents who now see their kids a few times a year instead of every Sunday. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

Under David Eby and the NDP, B.C.'s timber harvest has been cut in half. Forestry built this province. For generations it kept towns working, from Crofton on Vancouver Island to Fort St. John in the northeast. Now those mills are closing. Canfor shut its Fort St. John sawmill at the end of 2024, citing high costs, red tape and a constant struggle to get enough wood. A year later, Domtar closed the Crofton pulp mill after nearly 70 years, for much the same reason. None of that happened by accident. Layer after layer of NDP rules, permits and policy uncertainty has driven up the cost of getting B.C. wood from the forest to the mill to market. And the people paying for it live in the towns that depend on forestry the most. When a mill closes, it isn't just the jobs that go. It's the coffee shop, the hockey team and the tax base that kept the whole town going. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

B.C.'s debt has more than doubled under David Eby — $89 billion to $181 BILLION in four years. Eight credit downgrades since 2022. The rest of Canada: two. When David Eby became premier, B.C. was balancing its books. Now his government is running the biggest deficit in the province's history, borrowing $13.8 billion this year alone. Here's what Eby's spending looks like: • Spending has grown nearly 5X faster than revenue. • B.C.'s debt is on track to triple in just six years, faster than any province in at least 50 years. • B.C.'s debt now works out to $100,000 owed by every family of four. That money has to be paid back with interest, out of your taxes and eventually your kids'. Worse, a lot of it buys less than it should, because Eby's union-only rules and long delays have driven up the cost of the hospitals, bridges and highways we're paying for. David Eby says he wants more homes built in B.C., but his record tells a different story. Nearly 800,000 more people live in B.C. than in 2017, yet spending on new homes has dropped in six of the last seven years. That would be bad enough on its own. But it's happening while rent, groceries and nearly everything else cost far more than they did a few years ago. For families who were already struggling, a shortage of homes is a kick while they're down. Homes don't get built when building them costs too much and takes too long. Under Eby, builders have faced new taxes, rising development fees and permits that can take years to come through. Every one of those costs ends up in the price a family pays. Now, in the middle of an election, Eby wants to add another one. He has promised a new tax on condos that builders haven't sold within a year. Asked about the families who own those building companies, Eby said, "Those families aren't my priority." Eby may think a tax like this only hurts the people at the top. It doesn't. Every new cost on building gets passed down to the people buying and renting, and some homes never get built at all. The ones who pay are working families: • A young couple saving for their first condo watches the price climb out of reach. • A nurse can't find a rental she can afford near the hospital where she works. • Parents watch their kids move to Alberta because Eby made B.C. too expensive to stay. Nine years of NDP housing taxes, fees and rules, and housing starts keep shrinking. Eby's answer? As always: more taxes. That's not a housing plan — it's an addiction to tax. ICBA Chief Economist Jock Finlayson: icba.ca/economics-blog/deter…

David Eby has found plenty of jobs for government, but not for the people who build B.C. Since 2019, 154,000 of B.C.'s new jobs have been on the government payroll. That is 58% of all job growth in the province, and no other province comes close. At the same time, Eby's union-only rules keep most of B.C.'s construction workers off the big public projects your taxes pay for, like hospitals, bridges and highways, unless they join a union the government picked. Qualified tradespeople who are ready to work are being kept away from some of the best-paying jobs in the province. The government payroll has nearly doubled, to $53.2 billion. Meanwhile, public projects cost more and take longer to finish, and B.C. is worse off for it. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight

Nice try, David Eby, but you can't blame Trump for what has happened to B.C.'s economy. Business growth in B.C. started slipping in 2017, the year the NDP took office. By 2022 to 2024, it had slowed to about 1% a year, roughly a third of what this province normally sees. That was years before the current U.S. tariffs arrived. Tariffs are hurting B.C., and nobody is pretending otherwise. But by the time they hit, the slowdown was already eight years old. It was driven by decisions made in Victoria, including costly union-only rules on public projects, record spending and permit delays that drag on for years. Eby owns those decisions, and pointing at Washington doesn't change that. On October 24, vote for a government that will get B.C. building again. #BCpoli #BCElection #BuildingBCRight
