ICPixel / $PIXEL Update
As we prepare to transition ICPixel to its upgraded canisters, the current $PIXEL support phase will be coming to a close.
Following the transition, the planned allocation rate will be 0.15 base:0x00f3c42833c3170159af4e92dbb451fb3f708917 per $PIXEL.
Further details on distribution and next steps will follow.

I have to say, this app is genuinely fun to play with. If you enjoy pixel art, retro aesthetics, or just recreating characters you like in a different style, it’s definitely worth trying.

This is by far the biggest update we’ve made to the editor.
New UI. Reworked tools. Better workflows. Better performance. A lot of features rebuilt from the ground up and plenty we haven’t shown yet.
We’re getting very close. 👀
$PIXEL remains available at 0.1 $ICP per pixel until the Beta update, when the allocation price will change to 0.15 $ICP.

We have introduced the option to add a username and profile picture for users who have passed identity verification (anti-Sybil) and want to become delegates in liquid governance.
Each DAO provides a predefined set of profile pictures to choose from rather than allowing custom uploads, which avoids adding an extra burden of content moderation for the DAOs.
This same principle drove our decision not to include an internal chat by default.

I've recreated Gilmour, Van Gogh painting, album covers by Pink Floyd and Mike Oldfield, Yoda, and even a $23.7 million NFT with @icpixeleditor.
But since photography is another passion of mine, I figured it was time to try something different.

This time I didn’t just make “something inspired by” pixel culture... I recreated one of the most famous NFTs ever made.
It’s CryptoPunk #5822, one of the rare Alien Punks from the original CryptoPunks collection launched by Larva Labs back in 2017. The collection had 10,000 pixel characters, became one of the defining symbols of early NFT culture, and #5822 later sold for $23.7 million.
So yes, some people paid $23.7M for the original.
I recreated mine with @icpixeleditor just for fun.
