Product of some recent weekend tinkering: I built an entire stripped back, opinionated, cross-platform text editor for people who still want to produce aesthetically pleasing docs.
Basically simple Markdown UX with embedded styles and images.

1/ Today we’re launching an open letter calling on the government to end unfair restrictions that stop Britain’s best switching jobs or starting companies.
UK AI companies that have raised $5bn agree: our best should be free to start and scale. 🧵

For the record, @cstldao is awesome. Building new things surrounded by old.
NI published its draft AI strategy. Good. Taking it seriously matters.
The consultation runs 8 weeks.
The last 8 weeks in the market: OpenAI shipped GPT-5.6. Anthropic shipped an entire model generation. Google shipped three Gemini models. Moonshot 2.8 trillion parameters
And let NI's own AI companies do the work. Paid, scoped pilots with a real public-sector customer. A government that wants an AI economy should be its first customer.
Their own survey: 10% of citizens trust government with AI. Charters will not fix that. Receipts will.

Breaking: Manna to cease drone delivery flights in Ireland, blaming planners and regulatory haze.
Will focus abroad (incl US, UK, Europe) instead, it says.
Jobs likely lost but R&D centre will stay in Dublin

One year ago @StephenFarryUU and I argued that NI needs a cross-cutting AI strategy so that AI be harnessed to drive productivity and proactively up/re-skill our workforce. We can’t afford to be passive on this. @UlsterUniSPU

Anecdotally this reads true in current workplace comms. In the middle of the bell curve it’s hard to tell the difference not just because AI is sounding human, but both are beginning to sound like each other.
Everyone is starting to sound like AI, even in spoken language
Analysis of 280,000 transcripts of videos of talks & presentations from academic channels finds they increasingly used words that are favorites of ChatGPT
