Some news about #SmallBySmall. Not many know my original publishers @sandstonepress (to whom I am eternally grateful for giving me a chance), went into liquidation 6 weeks after my book was published. It has been a hard long slog of a year trying to keep it afloat & alive

I am saying it again, that Dr. @ikeanya’s memoir, “Small by Small,” is one of those books written by a Nigerian that’s so beautiful, so accessible, so enjoyable, so well written, and hasn’t gotten a fraction of the attention it deserves. One of the best books @Ohmstonweth sent me

Remembering Engr. Chidi Izuwah, public-sector leader & former Director-General/CEO of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC).
Five years after his passing, Engr. Chidi Izuwah’s voice still carries a sense of urgency.
At #FHC2019, he did not speak about Nigeria’s health challenges as though they were impossible to solve.
He spoke passionately about the excellence Nigeria had once demonstrated in healthcare. He drew attention to maternal & child health, challenged the country to invest in its people, & made the case for partnerships & technology to deliver better health outcomes at scale.
In his closing remarks, he said, he mentioned: “Without healthcare, without good healthcare, we are going nowhere.”
He was asking Nigeria to move & act before another mother dies. To invest before another opportunity is lost & to build before another generation pays the price.
Today, on our #FHCSpotlight, we remember Engr. Chidi Izuwah & the future of health he believed Nigeria could build. Register to join us for #FHC2026: futureofhealthconference.com…

@IcelandFoods Just trued to buy some groceries at your King Street Hammersmith shop using one of your self service machines. Total bill just over £15. Put in a handful f coins- one 2-pound coin & smaller denominations
I give him my details and ask when I should expect to hear back. The reconciliation won’t happen till midnight so he suggests I wait a few days …”maybe next week?”
How has a quick grocery pickup left me £2 plus poorer and @IcelandFoods unlawfully in possession of my money? I can’t make a complaint in store but should google customer service iceland
Really?
How will they know what the cause of discrepancy is and who should be compensated? They shrug. How will I be informed of outcome. “Come back tomorrow and check”. I protest, suggest they could at least take my contact details. The manager Harris gives me a blank receipt & pen

Day 20 of Promoting Nigerian Literature
There's an essay in this book by Ike Anya about the End SARS protest. It's titled after the old now new National Anthem, "A Banner Without Stain"
I can't sing that part of the anthem.

It's World Book Day!
Grateful for writers, readers, editors, publishing houses, arc readers, beta readers, libraries, and people who won't stop yapping about books.
You make the world such a beautiful place.
Nigerian doctors on my timeline, this poll is for you. In my experience in Nigeria, no matter how dire the hospital, the paediatrics department is always just a little bit better than the rest
100%Yes I agree. Seen it too

Today marks 5 years since Folajimi ‘Jimi’ Olubunmi-Adewole, 20, died after heroically attempting to save a woman from drowning in the River Thames in what was described as an act of sheer bravery.
Rest in peace Folajimi Olubunmi-Adewole 🙏🏾🕊️

I wrote a tweet earlier this week about improving your chances of luck with just structure. One of those things that is priceless is the chance of serendipitous discovery. It is never forced. Prof Osuide says this all the time about time and place.
