Anna

We had a day out to Northumberland today. Charlie & Agnes did Scentwork demonstrations, Charlie did a Rally class and I ran about hiding cheese. Normal day really!

No training today, just a chance to run and play and spaniel at the dog field. I think she enjoyed herself!

Some more from yesterday’s Halloween Scentwork. 5 different themed search areas, clues to find and spells to cast. Very lucky to have a trainer who puts so much effort in for us, we loved it!

When your friend says she’s dressing up but you don’t actually believe her so you borrow her hat and smile……

Scenes from Halloween Scentwork Day. These don’t even capture how twisted and dark some of it was! Great work by all the dogs and lots of laughs too

Finally broke her! Rally & obedience this morning then a taster session of agility this afternoon. She had just enough energy to rearrange the carpet runners and flop.

If I was in charge of the world it would be a hanging offence to play the ring doorbell sound on tv. The spaniel is now charging around wondering why I’m not answering the door 🙄

Happy happy birthday to @mooramana! There’s a lot of rubbish on this platform but there are also good people and she’s one of them. I’m very grateful twitter brought us together at the very worst time. We’ve had some adventures since then!!

Yesterday we heard in training how important it is to rest our dogs between tracking days and let them do what makes them happy. Apparently high winds, random sticks and open fields make her happy

We did it!!! We are officially now qualified as an operational search team for lost dogs. I’m so proud of us both, we’ve worked hard for this and the feedback was really lovely

My little tracking dog doing her thing today. Everything crossed for tomorrow when we find out if we’ve qualified as an operational team for @LdtNorthYorks

Assessment day 2 done. She worked really nicely again, waiting for pics of that but here she is letting off steam after her tracking. One more day to go 🤞🤞

Day 1 of our level 3 tracking assessment complete. She tracked really nicely, fingers crossed she was actually on the right track at the time! Two more days before we find out if we have qualified.

This proud little face knows she did good….first place in our scentops trial tonight! So pleased to see our hard work coming together just at the right time

Back to Scentwork this morning, trying to put some of our new learning into practice

And finally a ground search for a teeny tiny odour. She hasn’t done much ground searching so I’m chuffed with this one

And then you remember what you’re supposed to be doing but make sure you do it the most awkward way possible (she indicated twice from above on the hide but didn’t get rewarded because she shouldn’t have been up there!)

When windfall pears are way more interesting than searching and listening to mum…..

A couple of snaps from our weekend Scentwork workshop. Lots of learning, this was a “fun” search for her with lots of distractions but she found the hides & indicated perfectly
