I will say that it’s good that a detrans clinic is opening. People have the right to regret and feel what they need to feel. I think it’s important to leave options open so people can find better clarity for themselves and not live in anger for eternity.

No one is suggesting Hendrix or any gay female to be trans or has to medicalise. Hendrix made these decisions as an adult and regretted it. Thats fine but it doesn’t suggest that being LGB automatically should trans. Transitioning isn’t for everyone and. That’s fine.

She’s withstood innumerable attempts to silence her from all corners. Boy George, you know that guys can be androgynous or feminine and it doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with us that needs to be irreversibly medicalized. I think we’re fine the way we are and it’s cruel to suggest that people like us aren’t really male or that Hendrix, who is soft butch lesbian, isn’t really female. That’s what many of us who care about all kinds of nonconforming people including trans/nonbinary are trying to say.
