For World Sight Day, we gave the Leia team a simple depth perception challenge using just one eye. With both eyes open, each eye sees the same scene from a slightly different angle, and your brain uses those two views to help judge depth and distance. Closing one eye removes that binocular cue, which makes positioning an object in space a little harder. It’s the same basic principle behind stereoscopic display technology, where distinct left and right eye views are used to create the perception of added depth on screen.
