While encouraging them to buy, I must say that I remain very proud of the commitment and breakthrough of Alhaji Aliko Dangote's investment in the real sector of our country’s economy, across different sectors. This validates my position that we should move Nigeria from consumption to production. Firstly, I did not come online to “use you people” to farm engagement. I came online to express a genuine complaint arising from my own experience. It resonated with people because many could relate to the underlying concern, and it went viral organically. That visibility ultimately amplified the issue and brought the conversation into the REQUIRED JURISDICTION. That is very different from manufacturing a complaint for engagement. 2. Secondly, what started as the outcry of ONE has evolved into an outcry of ALL. That transition did not happen by magic. It has required countless hours of correspondence, research, analysis, consultations, calls and work behind the scenes. The legal and non-legal professionals involved have been working relentlessly, largely on a PRO BONO basis, because they believe the underlying issue deserves proper scrutiny. There is significantly more work happening behind the scenes than what you see on X. 3. Thirdly, this is a SENSITIVE MATTER. It cannot and will not be handled through ONLINE SENSATIONALISM. Do we need public support? Absolutely. Has the public conversation been instrumental? Yes, but are we also conscious that there is a very thin line between legitimate public advocacy and saying things that can prejudice, distort or unnecessarily complicate an ongoing matter? ABSOLUTELY YES. Therefore,our silence should not be mistaken for inactivity. A reduction in public updates should not be mistaken for abandonment and the absence of daily online theatrics certainly does not mean that the work has stopped. 4. Fourthly, on Saturday, 12 September 2026 at 6:26 p.m., I put out a public call for EXPERT SUPPORT. If this were genuinely about farming engagement, that would be a rather strange way to go about it. 😂 The reality is that this matter requires people who are willing to contribute actual expertise, time and intellectual work towards a cause that has now grown beyond one person’s complaint. The invitation remains open to professionals who understand the seriousness of what we are trying to achieve and are willing to contribute meaningfully. 5. The way I’m so happy about the Chinese competition in Nigeria these days, you can’t even understand. 😂 Tell me, as a Nigerian seller, you buy something from China for ₦1,500. Add shipping, clearing and everything, and your landed cost is maybe ₦3,000. Why are you now selling that same thing for ₦8,000 to retailers who still have to resell it? Then when Chinese sellers start beating down your prices, you’re protesting? Me sef, I dun leave my local vendor because of competition. I found a legit Chinese vendor with different warehouses and better prices. If you’re serious about clothing business and you have just ₦50k to start, there are vendors I can point you to where you can actually buy, sell and make profit. Because if you’re buying one bundle of round-neck T-shirts for ₦80k, how much do you expect to sell them for? Everything is competition. The more competitive your price is, the more people will patronize you. I honestly don’t see what the protest is solving. 😂
