The King has reminded the Commonwealth that the Royal Navy led the way in ending the transatlantic slave trade. In his speech at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting on Tuesday, he told leaders that the “complex” histories of their forebears must include “the good they did as well as the wrongs”. @Hannah_Furness has more 👇 telegraph.co.uk/royal-family…

Ten years of directly and indirectly profiting from accusations, claims and stories. Terrible damaging accusations, made against many people, and hurting countless lives in the process. They sold hate, disguised with teary eyes. And they have never, not once, been asked hard questions about the product they repeatedly sold. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. The letter was sent to 𝙝𝙚𝙧, about 𝙝𝙚𝙧 father. This time it's 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 silence that has potentially harmed others. 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙔 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢. In 2019 they were building a celebrity royal brand. They launched their own social media, started their own charity, and announced their relationship with Sunshine Sachs. They were networking the USA - political and industry - and chasing deals. And in the years since they've made tens of millions of dollars selling stories. Stories about family, friends, work colleagues. Stories about her father. They built a brand around selling truth and transparency, and fighting misinformation and disinformation. And they built a brand on protecting girls and children. Protecting minorities. 𝗦𝗢 𝗔𝗦𝗞 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗗 𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 #SilenceIsComplicity #SilenceIsBetrayal

Ten years later, almost half his adult life, that's just a tired sexist take. Harry has always been like this - petulant, entitled, immature. He'd just been indulged, coddled and therefore managed. And ten years ago the task of indulging, coddling and managing him transferred to someone else. 🤷🏻‍♀️ however narcissistic she may be, blaming Markle for what the middle aged and unemployed Harry has said and done is ridiculous.

The smartest royal ever who we are told kept receipts and diaries of everything, including receipts of conversations she was not part of did not keep receipts of the identity of the so called bodyguard who advised her not to go public with accusations and at no point followed up?

Some reading, for anyone interested. 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘴 - 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘰𝘸 Thinking about how divided the household was by the end of 2018 and in the early months of 2019, i'm unsure how that vast gulf between the two camps would suggest W+C, who had their own very full lives, would be aware of a private letter sent from Markle's fathers ex-wife to Markle} {🥴 also randomly, H+M thinking they were better than 'lesser royals' has been a constant theme}

Reminder that the i Paper is a subsidiary of the Daily Mail. Both are owned by Lord Rothermere. Dick Palmer is not neutral or 'independent'. He is yet another paid player in the PR campaign being run to rehab the duo and protect the King.

Apparently this is controversial: I think that if you know or even suspect that your father is a pedophile, you should tell the world. At the very least you should tell people around him so no further children are harmed. That's what we expect from decent human beings.

Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

MET is a complete mess. How do they expect to protect the public on these occassions? How deluded are they?
Exclusive: The Metropolitan Police is to reduce protection for Trooping the Colour. The force has “cut the vast majority” of officers it provides to police the King’s birthday parade, as well as other ceremonial events including gun salutes and Changing of the Guard. Instead, the Met will provide “minimal” protection, with far fewer police on the ground at events. The bulk of the responsibility will instead be contracted to a private company, The Telegraph understands. Army sources fear for the security impact this could have at big events. Not to mention- at a time when the military is trying to save £££ it will now be paying a private company to support them. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/10…

I find it interesting that she kept these dark secrets about her filthy father but was very quick to "tell all" about Harry's family. This is why I always say, Harry is worse than her. I personally don't think that letter was the first time she heard those allegations. Nope.
