Aggressive reminder: The sole purpose of our military is to close with and destroy the enemies of the of the United States. Deterring potential adversaries by our demonstrated ability to accomplish this violently.
Maintenance meetings, but you brief your readiness numbers while hooked up to a polygraph.
It isn't hard to see why the culture of truth telling eroded in the military.
The first time an officer doesn't turn the box on a slide green is when the transformation starts. Maybe he turned it amber, or god forbid... red.
That's when he got yelled at. "How come your unit isn't green but everyone else is? What's wrong with you? Why are you worse than these other commanders?"
Nobody likes to get yelled at. And most young officers don't want to rock the boat and hurt their career chances, so they play the game. The unit may not really be green, but by god, they are now on the slide.
The commander is now happy in the lie. And the subordinates are happy too. But now, since the first lie has been told, now it's a competition over who can tell the BEST lie.
This is where the officer transitions into a human LinkedIn post. Adding flowery language to terrible reports to make everything sound amazing.
Fast forward even further, and now you're a General. You've learned nothing but how to be a professional at perpetuating this folly. But the entire scheme is built on one load bearing attribute: hope.
Hope that the units they are reporting on won't get tested. Hope that America is strong enough to deter any would-be adversaries. And hope that even if our units are bad, that the enemy's are worse.
Hope has worked out from time to time. Unless you're a poor soul standing at Abbey Gate on 26 August 2021. Then hope straight up failed.
What you're seeing in the military is just a microcosm of the nation at large though. Maybe even western civilization itself. Look at who the majority of people love. The leader who can deliver bad news in the best way. The one who can twist the truth to make a horrible thing feel not so bad.
Conversely, look at how society responds to the blunt truth teller. They just want him to stop talking. Because living in a lie is more comfortable than facing the truth. It always is.
In order to fix the military, it must be radically transformed at the top. Not with civilians, with uniformed members. All it takes is one senior general infected with radical candor to force the rest of the uniforms in his image. Like a George Marshall.
But George Marshall would never ascend the military hierarchy in 2026. He didn't have the right "credentials". And therein lies the main issue.
You can skip a SECWAR from O4 to the top in a suit. But you can't take an O7 and turn him into an O10 like Marshall.
If we want radical candor back in uniform, the only thing left is to do something radical to achieve it.

The head of war plans for the Joint Chiefs of Staff just got relieved of duty.
The usual suspects in the Democrat/Media Complex are lying about why and how that happened.
My article below examines the affair and explains its deeper meaning.
~1,700 words. Please read if so inclined.
This is a somber reminder that in a struggle for political power, the most intolerant side will win. Every single time. There are no exceptions.
It is time to be intolerant of those who wish us destroyed. And intolerant of evil as a whole.
No more turning the other cheek.

You have to think in caveman terms. These debates are two tribes recruiting allies. TPUSA’s argument is “The other tribe is mean.” The other tribe’s argument is “We outnumber them. We’re organizing to kill them. We tell them to their face and they do nothing.” Who’d you join?

The pride... the joy... the thrill...
Realize that this delicate little college girl with her perfect nails, her iPhone and her Starbucks would kill you if she could get away with it – laughing about it the whole time. She is so completely infected with the darkness that she has lost her humanity.
Stop being tolerant of evil.

Why are the TPUSA guys still debating? Every “debate” clip I see from them now is just:
> “You should not kill me.”
> “Ok but we’re going to.”
You don’t understand. You think you do, but you don’t.
A great majority of U.S. Army officers are incapable of telling the truth. It is a feature of the system, not a bug.
The higher up they get, the more lies they’ve been willing to tell. Not all, but most.
This has not always been the way of things. This is the GWOT way of things.
If you attempt to speak the truth in a system built on lies, you get attacked like an immune system strikes a virus.
This isn’t me trying to take cheap shots at them. I’ve tried for years to spell this out in elevated prose where applicable.
I can’t best around the bush anymore. Any institution that attacks the truth no longer serves the greater good. It’s merely serving itself.

An active-duty infantry lieutenant colonel says the officer corps' inability to tell the truth is the biggest threat to readiness. The Army War College found the same in 2015: 'filling a box on a slide.' #Army #Readiness

Speaking as a Christian, this is why the evangelical wing of the party has yielded so much ground to the death squad.
They whine about Trump; whine about Paxton and judge their personal lives when they should be celebrated because they fight back. They think that by tolerating the spread of evil policy kindly and with a smile that they honor Christ when in fact the scripture commands us to expose the works of darkness and resist them as obedience to God.

The Department of War has zero tolerance for the intentional, unauthorized disclosure of classified information. Anyone who compromises sensitive national security information puts the lives of our Warriors at risk and undermines every military operation that keeps our country safe.
Following an extensive Air Force OSI investigation, the Department took necessary personnel action to protect sensitive information. To protect the integrity of the investigation, no further comment will be made regarding the individual or the circumstances of this action.
This matter, along with others, have been referred to the Justice Department for potential further legal action.
Classified information is not personal property. Leaking it for personal, political or professional gain is a betrayal of the trust placed in those responsible for keeping it.
Our commitment was not an empty promise. We vowed to find you, and we meant it.
From a War Department official:
“Army Lieutenant General Brett Sylvia, who was part of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was fired by Secretary Hegseth for severe misconduct. Although Sylvia’s title was director of the Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, known inside the military as the J5, he was NOT a central planner for the Iran War. That is the responsibility of CENTCOM and its commander Admiral Cooper.
Sylvia is the subject of an investigation for leaking classified information about the Iran War, the war between Russia and Ukraine, and more. Due to the Pentagon’s media policy requiring journalists to have escorts in the building, Sylvia began meeting with journalists outside of the Pentagon in order to leak classified information.
Sylvia failed three polygraphs which questioned him about leaking classified information. The investigation into him remains ongoing and has been referred to the Department of Justice for further action. The extent of his leaking became so critical that Secretary Hegseth took immediate action and fired Sylvia in order to protect national security. Urgent action was needed and could not wait another second.”
You cannot give mercy to those who will destroy you if they receive it. The hour is late.
There was once a shepherd who found a wolf caught in a snare at the edge of his pasture.
The wolf begged to be freed.
“I was hungry,” it said. “That is all. Spare me, and I will remember your mercy!”
The shepherd cut the rope.
The next night, three lambs were gone.
Again the shepherd found the wolf. Again it pleaded. Again the shepherd convinced himself that mercy was proof of his goodness.
By winter, half the flock was dead.
An old farmer finally asked him, “Why do you keep freeing it?”
The shepherd answered, “Because I refuse to become cruel.”
The farmer looked at the empty field and said, “Then understand what you have done. You were not merciful to the wolf. You were cruel to everything that trusted you to keep them safe.”
That’s the lesson.
Mercy without judgment isn’t virtue. When someone openly intends to destroy what has been entrusted to you, endless forgiveness doesn’t make you righteous. It makes everyone behind you pay for your vanity.
What doesn’t sit well with me here may surprise you.
I fully expect a demon to tell me they’re a demon. I don’t act surprised when they say they want me and my people dead. In fact, I respect it. They’re brazen enough to draw the line and declare themselves my enemy.
What I can’t abide is the response to it here in this video. The man is wearing a shirt with an American flag. Like the flag is pointing toward the attack, such as on our uniforms.
When confronted with a diatribe about she wants him dead, he simply responds back with “I will pray for you”.
I find this response to be weak and pathetic. And if it is what it truly means to be “Christian” then I want no part of it. I of course know that isn’t what being “Christian” means, but that’s what it’s become for men like this.
Endless mercy and virtue signaling. So the victim doesn’t have to show bravery at all. Turning the other cheek to literal death.
No. NO! I respect the enemy who declares themselves so. I have the opposite feeling toward those who look like my allies yet fold like a wet blanket at threat of death.
It is long past time to confront these people. Talking to them is harmful. There must be consequences for these actions. They killed the last guy who spoke for us. Now people like me are all that’s left. And I’m not alone.
We aren’t interested in showing endless patience and mercy to those who openly want us dead. And we certainly aren’t praying for them.
We only pray for only one thing now: victory.
May the most intolerant side win. The fate of civilization itself hands in the balance.
At @UTSA for Pick Up the Mic, a student read a poem celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk with such glee, then told me I was brave to be out here without my neck covered.
I told her I’d pray for her.
This is the climate. We pick up the mic anyway.

Boston is held hostage by many tribes. The most insufferable among them? Cyclists.
Yes, cyclists.
I recently saw two cars get into a little accident up there. They swapped info in the bike lane.
A cyclist in full gear pulls up, stops, and begins lecturing them on being in the lane.
They are among the most annoying creatures to spawn out of decadent western society.
Good lord 🤦 Boston is being governed like it’s a game of Sim City.
Install a bike lane outside senior housing, ignore residents’ concerns, create problems for emergency access, then rip it out two months later at taxpayers’ expense.
This is what happens when ideology takes priority over common sense.
Seniors and taxpayers deserve better.
It is my professional assessment after decades in uniform that the single greatest threat to military readiness is the U.S. Army officer corps’ inability to tell the truth.
For decades, the readiness culture has been built on literal lies, and must be rebuilt from the ground up.
