I am very happy to be a recipient of this year's NWO Veni-grants! 😄 🎉
One of ten in our university and 188 in the country.
This grant will allow me to devote three years of research on developing a Bayesian paradigm for learning from user interactions with search engines.

Looking forward to our tutorial in Taipei this Sunday! ✈️😎
We have three hours of very polished material to bring you the latest and greatest in learning from user interactions for search and recommendation.
Check out the preview slides to get an idea. 😄
See you there!
🚀Exciting news! Join us @SIGIRConf this Sunday for a tutorial on the latest advancements in Unbiased Learning-to-rank!📈 Hope to see you soon! Here's a preview of the lecture docs.google.com/presentation… @_Jin_Huang_ @AliVardasbi Philipp Hager @HarrieOos @irlab_amsterdam #SIGIR2023.

Excited about our #RecSys2023 paper acceptance:
We propose using beta distributions to model user preferences.
Our approach combines accurate confidence modelling, competitive predictive performance and minimal model complexity.
Kudos to @NormanKnyazev for brilliant work! 🎉
Our #RecSys2023 full paper:
A Lightweight Method for Modeling Confidence in Recommendations with Learned Beta Distributions
with @HarrieOos has been accepted! 🎉😄
See you in Singapore! 😎

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of hosting @HarrieOos at our ShareChat ML Seminar. Really enjoyed his talk, and definitely learned a few new things!
I was also informed we got the scoop of having the first video recording of this talk 👀 check it out!

Happy to share that our paper, "A Deep Generative Recommendation Method for Unbiased Learning from Implicit Feedback" with @HarrieOos @mdr got accepted at the ICTIR 2023. We propose a modification to the VAE for RecSys model to account for the popularity bias in the dataset.
